Through a long chain of friends of friends, I discovered this little paradise where peacefulness is key. Originally set up as a co-working space, the owners of Cocovivo made this place a home away from home. Set up with the help of an indigenous Ngobe-Guble family, everything is ecological: yes, that means a compost toilet. If that does not convince you yet, then maybe the possibility to kayak surrounded by dolphins will. Or you can practice yoga on your stand-up paddleboard. Or jump from the diving board right in the Caribbean sea and explore the reef. Or go on a jungle walk and count all the sloths you can see. Or eat delicious food made with very very local ingredients. Or see the stars in the sky reflected in the water bioluminescent plankton. Who needs Bocas' party scene when you have the 'disco' lights above and underneath you right? Through a long chain of friends of friends, I discovered this little paradise where peacefulness is key. Originally set up as a co-working space, the owners of Cocovivo made this place a home away from home. Set up with the help of an indigenous Ngobe-Guble family, everything is ecological: yes, that means a compost toilet. If that does not convince you yet, then maybe the possibility to kayak surrounded by dolphins will. Or you can practice yoga on your stand-up paddleboard. Or jump from the diving board right in the Caribbean sea and explore the reef. Or go on a jungle walk and count all the sloths you can see. Or eat delicious food made with very very local ingredients. Or see the stars in the sky reflected in the water bioluminescent plankton. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Bathroom came with shampoo and body wash. I had the ocean view room, which is great, just keep in mind that your window overlooks the shared patio, so if you want privacy, you have to close the shades. The common areas (patio, kitchen) were great, but really the best part is how friendly and helpful the owners were. Also, if you like dogs, they have 3 wonderful dogs that are super friendly. Breakfast was always tasty, and has 3 options: bacon&eggs, yogurt+cereal, or pancakes. All comes with a cup of fruit. The location is excellent, at least for my purposes, but then again, Bocas is tiny, so you can pretty much stay anywhere and be walking distance from everything. The only thing I wished for after a day or two is a chair (and ideally a small desk) as i needed to do some computer work and the only option was to either do it outside on the patio, or on the bed - neither was ideal. Overall, a wonderful little place, highly recommended!
