The Dairy, Freston, Suffolk

Located in Freston, The Dairy is a wonderful, refurbished holiday cottage with three double bedrooms, ample living space and its own private decked terrace. This spacious property has been finished to a very high standard with its unique fittings giving it a lovely cosy feel. Situated on beautiful Lodge Farm in the Shotley Peninsula, between the River Stour and the River Orwell, this is a wonderful choice for anyone looking for a remote location, yet within easy access to watersports, fishing, The Suffolk Food Hall, cycling and wonderful walks.

In 2013, the owners painstakingly restored The Dairy and neighbouring properties into what is now a lovely holiday cottage for up to six people. The Dairy has its own private outside space and decked area with seating for six.

6/10 Okay

Beautiful rural views but expensive for the overall quality

Beautiful views and an interesting conversion of old farm buildings. The play room with table tennis was great especially for children but the advertised snooker was very poor and no useful cues. We were lucky to have no one staying in the adjoining properties as this liberated more play space. The greatest surprise was having an open plan lavatory and bath in the master bed room. This would have been so easily walled off during the conversion rather than just a wooden shelf as partial barrier. This also meant there was no wardrobe or cupboard for clothes in that bedroom. The lounge, kitchen and dining area and deck were very pleasant especially as we had good to allow us to fully enjoy the fresh air.
