Had a lovely walk to the beach one morning and the land surrounding the home is gorgeous. This house was comfortable and clean. It is remote so be prepared to make most of your food. I wish the host was more clear with cleaning expectations so we could have matched those expectations better. ##### Amelia P. The little house is perfectly appointed — very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and elegantly designed. Highlights include the (unmissable!) walk to the pier and the world’s sweetest dog, who came to the door a few times to ask us to play. The nearby craft center has beautiful work from local artists as well as a really good cafe. We explored Inis Mor and the Burton while we were here. I’d recommend staying here to anyone. ##### Sarah S. Stayed 3 nights in May 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### K.L. G. 26 Jul 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Idyllic, Dreamy, and Relaxing Our stay was idyllic, dreamy, and fully relaxing. First, Janet and Michael are exceptionally warm and gracious. They made us feel welcome and right at home and were attentive to our comfort. The property is absolutely charming with beautiful cottage garden spaces and a lovely view from the all windows. Riley, the sweet, gentle, herding dog, greeted us often with her smiling face. The cottage is in the most beautiful area, with stunning walks to the beach, past lovely herds of cows, sheep, and a few ponies and friendly neighborhood cats and dogs. A wonderful, fully-stocked market is just a 10-minute walk away. We were pleased to find many gluten free selections. The cottage itself was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Beds were very firm and comfortable, showers were great, and the kitchen was a delight to cook in. We sat outside mornings and evenings with coffee or meals and enjoyed the beautiful garden and fresh, clean air. It’s a short drive from the cottage to many exciting places to see. The Wild Atlantic Way is truly spectacular. We spent three weeks at this unforgettable place and were truly sad to leave. We hope we can return someday to stay here again or to try Janet and Michael’s gorgeous Connemara Glamping, if we bring our extended family along with us. We can’t thank our hosts enough for their warm hospitality. It was truly a relaxing and restorative trip. We offer our highest recommendation for this stay. ##### K.L. G. Wow, they did an amazing job on it. It’s an exceptionally nice place to stay. And it comes equipped with a Border Collie for entertainment. The kindness and thoughtfulness of the owner is great, too. She had cake ready for us when we arrived. We highly recommend Teach na mBo for a base to explore Connemara. ##### James C. Stayed 4 nights in Apr 2023 ### 8/10 Good #### Mark A. 11 Jun 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Our stay at Teach na mBo Our first trip to Ireland and this was a great base for exploring Connemara, Galway and the Aran Islands. Janet recommended some walks and trips - in particular walks on Gorumna, Omer Island and a trip over to Inis Oirr, the smallest of the Aran Islands. Do try Kai restaurant in Galway (if you can book) - Janet suggested taking the bus in from Costcutter (great idea) and finally if you drive north to Clifden, the sky road is a must and carry on to Kylemore Abbey and stop for lunch at the Misunderstood Heron overlooking Killary Fjord. ##### Mark A. Terrific cottage away from the bustle of Galway, but close enough to do tours or shop. Janet and Michael are amazing hosts, friendly and knowledgeable (thank you both for your hospitality! Give Riley a pet for me, loved playing fetch with the little sticks she brought me) Close access to a local grocery (short walk), and a very “local” pub a bit further. ##### Aaron W. Everything we needed was available. It was spacious and comfortable. Janet, The host was lovely. We also loved the location. Short walk to Galway Bay and short drive to the ferry to get to Inis Mor. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere so peaceful and quiet. I highly recommend this cottage if Western Ireland is your destination. ##### Stacy G.
