Family Gathering 2024
The property is so beautiful and we all loved the house. There were 9 of us staying there and the house is very spacious with areas for toddler play time, card games, dining, a very nice kitchen and beautiful living room that has gorgeous views of the pond and woods. The boys had a great time fishing too. They caught blue gill, catfiish and we think a crappie. We all had a wonderful time.

Family Christmas Gathering
We had a wonderful time at The Sanctuary celebrating Christmas with family. It was spacious and beautifully-decorated. The great room was perfect for gathering everyone together to open gifts and watch a Christmas movie. Mary and Josh were were great hosts and were quick to respond to any questions that we had. We would definitely stay there again.

Wow… if you are thinking about going to Brown Co, IN, you definitely want this place. The most clean place I’ve ever stayed. The whole setting was absolutely Perfect! Would definitely go back.

Awesome Weekend Getaway
Having an awesome time is an understatement. I cannot explain in words of how magnificent this property is. From fishing, kayaking, paddleboats, wrap around porch with lots of chairs, grilling, and a beautiful pond. The views are breathtaking. This was our first stay here, and it most certainly wont be our last. If you're in need of an awesome time, along with a weekend getaway, "The Sanctuary " is where it's at! The owner's are awesome as well. We didn’t get to meet them, but I felt like we did just through the VRBO messenger. Again thank you all so much for everything.

The house and property is beautiful. We enjoyed fishing the pond and the pedal boat. The bedding and towels were clean and nice. I did contact the owner about the cleanliness of the home. The clean team are cutting a lot of corners. The owner lives out of town and was unaware. She was apologetic and said she would take care of it for the next renters! Otherwise we had a great time!!!

Peaceful and beautiful scenery!
Our stay at The Sanctuary was wonderful! There were seven of us and there was plenty of room. (Something to note, the bunk room beds are better suited for kids and not for adults with back problems). The sheets were soft and the beds were comfortable in the bedrooms with the big beds. There were plenty of bathrooms so no one had to wait to shower. With two sitting areas and a large dining area, there is plenty of room to visit, watch tv or play games. Lots of games are provided in case you forget to bring some. The kitchen has lots of dishes for eating and cooking and a nice grill outside. Outside is a generous front porch with rockers and a swing that make soaking up the sights and sounds of nature the best part of the day. Outside is a nice play area and at the ponds our group did lots of fishing and canoeing. There is a nice big fire pit. I would suggest bringing your own things for starting a fire. There is plenty of things for kindling but no way to cut it. There is a lighter and sticks to roast marshmallows provided. The hosts proved a wonderful basket with s’mores ingredients as well as syrup and pancake mix. We would come back to the Sanctuary 100%. This is a great place for family get togethers, small retreats, board gaming groups or girl’s weekends. You won’t be sorry!

This home was a perfect fit for 8 long time friends to be together with the large living room, spacious kitchen and a wonderful porch with plenty of seating. Very clean and well cared for. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend this rental!

The home and property were beautiful and exactly as listed. Plenty of space, well maintained with everything we needed for our stay. We truly felt like it was a great getaway place with plenty to inside and we totally enjoyed exploring the outside property. Owner was very accommodating with great communication. We would definitely recommend and absolutely go back for a second stay.

Great Stay
Stayed March 2023. Property just as advertised, super clean, and lots of much appreciated technology for a remote area (Direct TV satellite + more, great wifi). Felt recently updated/renovated/addition. Very large - could easily accommodate a large 5-7 person family or 2-3 couples, though we enjoyed the extra space just for the 2 of us and our dog! Would highly recommend and stay again.

Amazing, Relaxing Weekend
Four friends and I decided that we needed a girls weekend and this home was the perfect place for it. With a ton of bedrooms and seating options at both the table and in the living room, we were able to hang out in comfort the whole weekend. The house was immaculate and the kitchen was well stocked allowing us to cook dinner and breakfast. We decided that this would become an annual tradition and we look forward to coming back again next year.

Family wedding weekend
We rented this space for our sons wedding. We have had some surprises with VRBO and The Sanctuary did not disappoint. Very very clean spacious and comfortable. Our grandkids are begging to revisit in the summer. Location is also awesome just a few miles north of Nashville IN. Josh & Mary thank you for maintaining such a beautiful home for others to enjoy. This property is absolutely amazing. We had 7 people in our party and we had more than enough space. This was the most stocked VRBO I have stayed in. Could use a hand rail to dock. And extra batteries for all controllers. We ask for a replacement bulb and smoke detector battery and they came over right away. Consider calling someone about pond management, blue hills are a bit stunted. All in all a great stay.

Perfect place for our sibling reunion!!!
The Sanctuary is a wonderful place. It was exactly what we needed to enjoy our sibling reunion "back home again in Indiana". The home was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoy fishing, floating/paddle boarding but most of all sitting on the porch in the rockers and watching the incredible fireflies every night. The only issue we had was the temperature in the home must have been on a schedule and would get cold at night. We tried to set it back above the recommended setting but it would always drop back down. We absolutely loved the place and would highly recommend it.

Girls Get Away Sanctuary
We booked The Sanctuary for a girls 3 nite trip to Brown County. We had eight "mature" gals who wanted to relax and have some fun. The property was awesome. It was well stocked, clean, lots of space to hang out in. It is minutes from Bean Blossom, Nashville, Morgantown and lots of shops and restaurants. We highly recommend it for anyone with a large group. We cooked at the house and ate at local restaurants. The owners were very responsive to any questions or issues. We give it a 10+

Our group was 4 couples looking to get away for a weekend. So we were there Friday through Sunday. We woke up to a gorgeous dusting of snow across the property on Saturday, which enticed us to layer up and explore the property. It was so picturesque! But the property lines and the trails were a bit hard to find under the snow. The house itself is so nicely appointed and very cozy. The spaces are perfect for a group our size. The owners were very responsive and answered any questions we had quickly. They even accommodated a late check out for us since it was a holiday weekend. Only drawback was the HVAC. It was cold in one bedroom and exceptionally hot in another. We figured it out though and had a wonderful time. We may even plan a return trip this summer to enjoy the pond.

I arranged the rental of this property for a reunion of friends who met at IU 50 years ago. We were seven ladies, in all, and could not have been more pleased with our accommodations. The house was spacious, attractive and very clean. Plenty of space for all of us to be comfortable and hang out and spend time catching up and relaxing. The kitchen was well stocked with the basics. we all enjoyed that there were plenty of bathrooms, making getting ready a breeze. We were sorry that the weather was chilly, otherwise we would have enjoyed making use of the outdoor activities, but we did have fun star gazing one clear evening. Communication with the owners was easy and efficient. We had a few minor questions over the course of our stay and they always responded promptly. We could not have asked for more! This place is terrific from A-Z!

A Perfect Fit
Three busy couples met for a Sanctuary wkend. We enjoyed grilling out Fri night followed by an evening around the firepit. Sat we walked the trails, boarded the paddle boat and rocked on the front porch. Grilled steaks Sat night & visited until late hrs. We Highly recommend The Sanctuary !!! We'd love to return!!! Very clean, comfortable, welcoming, inviting. The kitchen could use some foil, saran wrap & an extra garage bag so we ran to the Dollar General and managed. Thank you for a Lovely Wkend!!
