Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum

Worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. After a 12-hour drive, we arrived exhausted, hoping to finally rest. Instead, we walked into an apartment that smelled strongly of urine, mold, and mustiness. The odor was unbearable, even with the window already open. We contacted the owner immediately because we couldn’t stay there. She promised a full refund, but it took several days, and we never received the $27 pet fee, even after I reminded her. This completely ruined our long-awaited trip. Since everything nearby was fully booked, we spent hours searching for another place and had to drive two more hours after already driving 12. We lost time, money, and our plans for the next day. I hope the owner refunds the remaining $27 because I don’t want to leave a single dollar at a place that completely ruined our vacation. I would never stay here again and cannot recommend this place.

We were pleasantly surprised when we walked through the door of cabin #1. It was clean, but it could use a dusting of cob webs on the wood walls in the bathroom. The room had thin walls as we discovered a few hours after arriving as we were settling into our bed to relax, and the group of guys next door were loud, clanking or moving things around it seems. Luckily for us they got quiet around 10pm and left at 5am.
