Hupp's Hill Civil War Park

THE NOT SO GREAT STUFF: Be aware, you are one block from the White House so there is virtually never any parking spaces readily available. So unless you pay $82.00 per day (NOT $70.00, which is what the hotel staff will tell you), you'll be forced to spend half your stay trying to find parking or walking a mile back to the hotel (if you're lucky!) I stayed in a suite, which was nice, but the lighting was terrible. There was not enough light in the living room and dressing area, and when I'd open the blinds, the windows from the adjacent building saw right into mine, so I had to keep the blind closed. The bathroom light was dim and although the mirror had lighting, it wasn't enough to make a difference. The telephone in the bedroom area worked sometimes on speaker and sometimes not. You may also want to consider bringing your own iron. The refrigerator (if that is what you want to call it) was ridiculous. I think it was actually a wine or drink fridge, so forget trying to store any leftovers. THE GREAT STUFF: Million (yes, that's his name), was phenomenal. I know I had to have bugged him 50+ times but his demeanor never changed. There is also a beautiful, petite young woman (I hate that I do not recall her name), who always smiled and went out of her way to be helpful. My first day arriving, I was frustrated at not finding a place to wait for the valet and she literally came out of the hotel to help me... TWICE! Room Service was AMAZING and the food was exceptional.

The only problem was that they were working on the water pipes and at nine AM the water was turned off until 3 PM. That was a bit inconvenient for us so we checked out earlier than we had planned, cancelled our afternoon train tickets and headed by Uber to our next hotel in Baltimore, which allowed us to check in very early. Front desk was awesome helping us to arrange the Uber.
