"The property was recently renovated. It is verybcomfortablen and clean while maintaining a lot of its rustic charm. Floors are squeaky, but freshly finished and clean. The bathroom had modern finishes.
The syaff was wonderful, friendly and helpful.
Its nice that they have a restruant on site and the food was very good except the menu was a bit limited and service was a bit slow.
Overall a wonderful experience in Chama and couldnt be more convenient to the railroad. Highly recommend this for single travelers if couples."

"Having Family in Chama we have always stayed with family. This year we tried something different and rented a cabin. This cabin was beautiful and it made our stay more authentic. It had the perfect amount of beds for everyone with us and it was equipped with everything we needed. The host Gail was very responsive and helpful when questions were asked.The only issues were the water would pulsate as if the well was low on water and the microwave had a small crack in it but it did not make any issue. Other then that everything was wonderful and I am sure we will be checking if it is available on our next visit "
"A very nice cabin with excellent amenities. We were impressed with the attention to detail of everything. We found the cabin to be in very good condition and very COMFORTABLE. From the linens to the kitchen utensils, it was well furnished making for a very enjoyable stay. I would have appreciated a grill, but it was not too inconvenient. The cabin is a bit off the beaten path, but it was easy to get to where we needed to be. The evenings were enjoyable. A quiet area and a great view of the stars. We saw a wide variety of wildlife. Our communication with the host was great - prompt and informative."

"This is our 3rd stay at “The Getaway.”It’s a wonderful place for all ages. If you need a break and place to reset from the daily grind this is the sanctuary to do so. We enjoy the quiet to read and reconnect with family on the porch over a cup of coffee or a meal at the table. Our family enjoys playing card or board games or walks down to the river. We always come home refreshed! Abby is a gracious host who provides an inviting atmosphere for all to enjoy! We look forward to returning this Fall."

"Our accommodations were just perfect. The property is secluded which makes it quiet and relaxing. The house is roomy and exceptionally clean. It worked out great for the seven people in our party. "
