"The hotel does not have a sign so a phone call was required to find it, but it is a real treat once you step inside! I was welcomed in my language with a cold bottle of water, they invited me to sit while someone took my luggage upstairs and turned on the air conditioner, and they have maps showing restaurants and other sites in the immediate vicinity.
The hotel seems like it would be a great option for couples, walking within a few blocks of the hotel felt safe and comfortable even after sunset, and they have a beautiful sitting area behind the front gate for relaxing with conversation. The wifi was fast and reliable, and the room air conditioning was very effective.
I took advantage of the airport shuttle at the conclusion of my stay and the driver was kind and professional. Note that you will need to identify your airline, as the airport has two different terminals.
You need to go up a few steps to get into the hotel and at least three rooms are on a second floor, so this boutique hotel is not for people who are mobility impaired.
Additionally, one of the rooms has a bathroom outside the room so you'll need to get dressed and bring keys with you to use it if you are in the blue room.
If I return to Panama, I will most likely stay at this hotel again! I liked it that much!"
"Property was clean and breakfast was very good, with a myriad of choices and the staff was very professional and helpful. Checking in however was less than pleasant: no help or direction given upon arrival so I went to the right to find reception but it was to the left so I went around in an almost complete circle. At check in i was given the key to my room and the reception pointed to the direction of the elevator and I was left on my own no bellman to assist with luggage. The room was clean but missing certain items and this set the stage for the rest of the stay. Each night when I returned I had to call for my room to be cleaned and or to be replenished with towels or other items. Also the bathroom while clean is definitely not up to the 5 star rating it advertised. The wall was tiled except the shower enclosure was made of some type of material like vinyl and the shower floor was like a builder grade plastic/composite mass produce shower floor. No bathtub. The temperature and pressure of the water in shower and faucet was good. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel and the service especially on arrival is very poor. I have stayed at other Riu properties and never experienced this mediocre service. It's imperative that they use this review to implement a robust improvement plan immediately. They could benchmark other areas on their own property like the breakfast, lobby and poolside restaurant staff, or look to other Riu properties like in Mexico, Jamaica etc."
"This is a smaller hotel only 1 block from Via Espana with easy access to the Metro and a large number of fast food places like McDonalds, Wendys, and even Panama's only Tim Hortons. There are a couple of drug stores about 1/2 block away that also have snacks, drinks, etc. The hotel is very clean and has a nice pool for a quick swim. The breakfast is plentiful but typically Panamanian rather than North American. There was always cereals, breads, oatmeal, and scrambled eggs along with fresh fruit like watermelon, pineapple, melons, etc. There is always a few more hot dishes such as pancakes, sausage in a tomato/pepper/onion sauce and often rice and or sauteed veggies. It was all very tasty. The staff were super nice and friendly and made me feel welcome. I will definitely stay here again! "
"Fantastic property especially for an airport hotel! Great food and a gorgeous pool. Super convenient shuttle to and from the airport and extremely helpful staff. I don't speak much Spanish but they all were very proficient in English. Definitely recommend this property."
