Always a Pleasure

Posted 26-Nov-2015
Pros: See above.
Cons: Nothing that we can think of.
Location: Nice views over Belfast Lough and pleasant walks. The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum is nearby.
Over the years my wife and I have stayed at the Culloden many times. We are quite difficult to please but have never been disappointed with this hotel. Its communal facilities are first class, Indeed the dining room has been renovated earlier this year ( without really needing to be), as was the bar a couple of years ago.. The hotel has an air of understated luxury, matched by excellent service and food. All in all it really is a pleasure to be there.

Lovely pool and spa

Posted 23-Nov-2015
We had a lovely stay and especially enjoyed the lovely spa area. Friendly staff and very comfortable. The onky downside for me was the very noisy guests singing and shouting in the next room which kept me awake in the night.

Lovely Hotel.

Everything was 5* except for service at breakfast. Understaffed I asked 3 times for a pot of coffee and my friend added twice before we got it. First pot of coffee was small and not warm.

Not great

Posted 01-Nov-2015 on Hotels
The spa was not a place to go to relax, more a health centre which offers spa treatments. We were disappointed with the room, the hotel is in a beautiful setting but we were looking out at a roof lined with fake grass. Food and drink was very expensive in the bar and Inn, we didnt eat in the restaurant. It was only OK.

Relax weekend AND it was perfect the Spa Area and Staff are excellent , Hotel is lovely with very friendly staff our room was fine , feel a little coat of paint would do wonders to the room we were in walls had marks on them not just what you would expect from a 5 star. Restaurant was lovely we ate in the Cultra Inn and it was perfect also staff were very efficient and very friendly. Breakfast was lovely and the decor in the restaurant was beautiful , grounds amazing will definitely be back .

Giants Causeway

we found at check in that we had been upgraded where in fact we had paid for the best room available. Room lovely and views We found breakfast very poor indeed and when second morning asked for pancakes they were so hard send back and the replacement was not any better. Evening meal satisfactory if a little lacking in fresh vegitables

Staff better than hotel condition

Posted 08-Oct-2015
Staff excellent throughout stay!! Kept waiting over half hour for room Offered an upgrade (before even complaining) Bed looked untidy (massive lump in duvet!) and tiles in bathroom were??? TV also faulty n bad pic quality. Some maintenance going on but this was unfortunate as hadn't realised until we got there. Staff were main selling point Maybe better once work is complete.
