not a hotel, more like a motel

Posted 15-Sep-2017
looks nothing like the pictures, does not have any restaurant or room service. Staff was extremely rude and not helpful at all. There was nothing included in the room not even water. Just bed washroom and tv. Was not even in Hollywood, the area was extremely unsafe. The hotel did not have any security and doors were always open. Any random stranger could have easily accessed the hotel. They did not check at all who came and left the building.

Hot Day in LA

Posted 06-Sep-2017
The accommodation was marginal at best. The AC did not work and it took them a full day to change our room after several complaints.

Not the best area. Manager or owner screaming and rude with employees. Rooms a little tight beds real hard. Breakfast was good. Not safe neighborhood...

Mildew

Posted 30-Aug-2017
The hotel building is very nice, parking easy and safe, the staff knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and omelettes cooked speedily by a very nice and courteous lady. The room was large with a kitchen sink and refrigerator - very convenient. My complaint is that our bathtub walls had mildew. Not a little bit. Quite a bit. The towel holder was rusted, the chest of drawers in the bedroom was missing a handle. I don't know, I had hoped for a better bathroom and since I have choices, I will choose not to go back. But for that area of Los Angeles, where there are not many choices, it would remain an option for many people.

Located a couple of minutes walk from the metro station (Vermont/santa monica) so easy to get around town. Pretty good breakfast especially the egg station manned by the delightful Hugo.

Stay depends on room you get.

Posted 26-Aug-2017
The first room we got reeked of tobacco smoke, the bathroom was terrible ( very grimy shower tiles, peeling wall paper, chipped tiles and shower temperature control was impossible) and the room overall almost depressing to be especially considering what we paid. However, the following day I brought these issues to the staff's attention. They showed me a MUCH nicer room and we moved into it. The second room was perfectly fine. Pool was fine. Breakfast buffet was also fine.

Staff was phenomenal. Rate for the room was fair, but got gouged for parking.

Not recommended

Posted 21-Aug-2017
Not recommended. I feel completely disappointed and scammed. The facility is in complete disrepair with a few random and shoddy updates throughout. The first night a water pipe inside the bathroom wall flooding the room. The Manager offered to waive the parking fees for the inconvenience. However at check out I was still charged full price parking. The parking was not secure as described (it was broken or out of tickets). The phone is both rooms did not function. The rooms were dirty (floors and walls) and there was no room service or fresh towels provided even when the placard was hung outside the door requesting it. I have attempted to contact the director/CEO, Jeff Zarrinnam, and have not heard back from him at this time.

Will never return

Posted 18-Jul-2017
We pulled up in the evening to find many tents surrounding the hotel, with homeless people. They required me to give them my minor children's passports upon check in- which I have never experienced upon staying at any other facility. They have an additional charge for parking every night, that said initially that it was included in the price. Upon entering our room we heard gunshots and it was quite noisy. The pool is very outdated, and not appealing to swim in. The second night we were there, we were approached by prostitutes, and witnessed a drug deal gone bad with more gunfire. At that point, I decided to pack up her things and leave, and find accommodations elsewhere. I contacted the hotel, but because I book this through Expedia, I cannot get a refund. Very disappointed in my stay. Will avoid this hotel at all costs. Not at all what they advertise to be.

Not bad for short stay

Posted 14-Jul-2017
The A/C doesn't work. It goes off when you leave the room and leaves the room stiflingly hot when you return. The hotel is quite old and has been facelifted a few times with inconsistent design themes. For a budget hotel, it's ok. The bed and pillows were good quality and comfortable.
