Really Sweet Duplex Property w/ beautiful beach access!

Location location location!
Our family of 8 had a wonderful beach week! We rented surfboards a block away, walked to Shaka Tacos and ice cream, and enjoyed watching surfers at the pier while drinking morning coffee on the deck. The beach access and swimming in the waves was perfect. The house was comfortable for 8 of us. One note: the 4th bedroom on the ground floor is tight for the queen bed which makes it hard to keep clean and the only non-en suite bathroom is on the 3rd floor. It was a great week and we would stay at Catie’s Cove again.

2 week stay at Catie’s Cove
We stayed at this property for 2 weeks and Sharon was great to work with. She responded quickly to any messages. The location is PERFECT. The unit is next to public beach access but not bothersome. We would definitely stay here again.

Memorable!
The host was incredible! She responded fast, was very professional and very welcoming. She really put the cherry on the top with this trip. The house was very clean. The views were great. The kids were able to go to the beach just below the house. Furniture and beds were all comfortable. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The kids had beach toys to play with. I couldn’t ask for anything better. My wife enjoyed this birthday trip and everyone is asking when we will go back again. I will definitely be back. Thank you to the host for everything!

Fantastic Stay
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property. The home was very clean upon arrival, and it was honestly the most well-stocked home I have ever stayed in - we really only had to bring ourselves and our groceries (and linens). Honestly, the only note I would make to future visitors, is that while there are plenty of beach chairs for everyone to use, they are quite small. We will 100% return!!

Perfect family getaway
We stayed at Catie’s Cove for a week with our immediate family and it was the perfect place for an awesome week. The pictures of the house do not do it justice as it is much nicer in person than what the pictures depict. The location of the home is awesome as you can literally walk anywhere you need to get for the week. We took advantage of the nearby IGA food mart, DayBreak donuts, Shaka Taco, and Mac Daddy’s.. to name a few. The beach front is beautiful and we spent most of our time enjoying the waves and sunshine. The house is equipped with everything needed to cook meals at the house and plenty of space for everyone to gather for meals. The only difficult part of the stay was that we had an infant who went to sleep much earlier than everyone else and the sound of footsteps from the top floor could be very loud in the lower levels, but it was minor compared to how great everything else was. Loved the home and the area and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beach getaway.

Catie’s Cove Surf City
Linens and towels had to be rented so we brought our own from WA state. We have never rented a place where these were not furnished. I had a difficult time getting ahold of the host. Very frustrating. The place was clean, but lots of stairs which was not a problem for us.

Great location, beautiful sunsets from the deck. I knew there were steps from other reviews but if you have any issues at all with steps you might need to pick another place. The main living/kitchen area in the house is on the top floor. Master bedrooms on the 2nd floor and parking on the bottom floor. Needless to say no matter what you are doing in the house you have to constantly navigate long flights of steep stairs. Young, healthy, need a workout??? This is your place!

Catie's Cove was perfect for a small surprise party that I had for my son's 18th birthday party. He loves to surf and fish, so being oceanfront was awesome! The views were phenomenal, especially the sunrise. The house had everything we needed and then some! We most definitely will be back!

We had the best time just hanging out with family that you only see on occasions when you are at home.The duplex was great.We had plenty of room and it was clean and well decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the views were awesome. Our neighbor Sharon and here family were very nice and friendly. It's just a great place to stay while at the beach! We definitely will go back again .We would recommend any one to stay here and you wouldn't be disappointed !

Perfect Beach Getaway
We loved our stay at Catie's Cove. The location was PERFECT! Walk anywhere you need to go within 5 min. You will have everything you need for all ages! We had a toddler and a newborn so the baby gates were perfect, and being able to lull the baby to sleep with the sound of ocean waves was lovely! Plenty of room for our party of 5 adults, 4 kids and 2 babies! Loads of beach and ocean fun with plenty of toys, chairs, and boogie boards. I highly recommend this property! Laura

Nice break from reality
Two families with children ranging from 6 to young adults shared the property for a week. The property itself is very nicely maintained and matched the photos online. We found the house well stocked with games and beach necessities to match all of the age groups. The location is fabulous with short walk to restaurants and shops. We would be interested to rent both sides of the home in the future with additional family members!

Enjoyed staying in this property and being directly on the beach and being in walking distance to restaurants, ice cream shops, etc. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the 4th bedroom is just a bed in a small room. A picture of this room needs to be added to the listing. Also, wished linens and towels were included in rental instead of having to bring or rent them. Even though beach chairs are included they are the smallest beach chairs that don’t recline, so if that bothers you bring your own. : )Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location
I stayed here with my partner and 4 of our friends. We were all happy with our rooms and we had plenty of space! The location was perfect, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Owner quickly responded to all of my messages. My only suggestion is to add a photo of the downstairs bedroom to the listing as we might have invited another couple had we realized there was another room with a queen sized bed. We will be booking again next summer!

Our son is stationed at Camp Lejeune so we rented Cake by the Ocean for our family to stay at. We loved it so much. We have never done a Christmas away from home but this was so special. The views were amazing and we saw dolphins the last two days. Being able to walk the beach everyday and listen to the ocean made it quite relaxing. We hope to return!

Great beach getaway
You couldn’t ask for a better location, a house right on the beach! The property has its own private beach area, but since it was off-season, we were able to set up our chairs and umbrella in the public space. We were definitely able to maintain social distancing while fully enjoying the warm weather, beach and the ocean. Instacart is available for grocery delivery, but food delivery like DoorDash was not (at least no restaurants showed a delivery option at the time we were there). But that was ok, because there were plenty of local restaurants with take out options within walking distance. Definitely checkout Topsail Steamers, Daddy Macs, Shaka Taco, all great food! And Fractured Prune for made to order donuts and North Shore Juice for fruit smoothies. Overall, the house was great! Plenty of space for a family or group of friends to have one last beach trip before winter. It was the perfect recharge for my family and we hope to stay there next year!

THE spot!!
The place was perfect for our family ranging ages 4-70 years of age. It’s right on the beach, full of kids books & beach toys, beach chairs etc. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. Great Location
This house is right on the sand and within very short distance to the peer. I love the fact that there were umbrellas, beach chairs, and sand toys provided. The children enjoyed the swings as well. Daddy Macs Beach Grill was also a short walk away and the food was great! We sat on the outside deck and enjoyed the ocean while watching a fisherman catch a stingray. Shaka Taco is just across the street from Daddy Macs. Fish Tacos and shredded chicken tacos were really good! The house is located within walking distance of just about anything you need. We were very comfortable and will definitely be back!

Lovely property
This is a wonderful beach house within walking distance of many eateries, shops and the pier. My grandchildren were able to walk by themselves for after dinner ice cream. The house is well stocked with kitchen items, toys, games, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay (despite a hurricane!) and will definitely consider returning.

Great beachfront house — walking distance to restaurants
Catie’s Cove was a great house — very roomy and comfortable, including the beds and the decor was tastefully beachy. Just about everything I thought to bring (besides linens and towels) was provided. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, appliances and even spices. There was a great selection of games and books (giant Jenga was a big hit with the boys), and there were plenty of beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. Restaurants, the pier, ice cream, doughnuts and surf and coffee shops were very walkable from the house. We chose to drive to get groceries rather than the IGA that’s right there, but still just 5 minutes from the house. The house was a bit sandy when we arrived but it’s a beach house so not a big deal — other than that it was clean. The bunk room actually has two twin over double bunks instead of one with a twin day bed as shown in the photos, so we didn’t bring two sets of double sheets. It’s a three-story house with the kitchen on the top floor, so plan to bring a cooler out to the beach (and another set of stairs over the dunes) so you definitely get some cardio in! The views from the top deck were awesome and watching heat lightning at night was a highlight. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for thinking of everything to make this such a comfortable beach house!

Pick this for location & well-stocked home
We had a great long weekend stay here. Property is clean and well-stocked. It was very easy to bring all our food and cook in house with everything she has in the kitchen. Tons of beach chairs and toys. Home has basic updates; nothing is fancy, but it's all you need and we were very comfortable. Beautiful view and can't beat the location--easy walk for coffee, ice cream, & groceries. Our families agreed we would definitely stay again. Only a couple of cons: Does not provide linens; you have to bring your own. Kids room is on third floor with adults suites downstairs (this is a plus probably if you have older kids but ours are young). Overall, pick this house if you have two families with a bunch of kids and want to easily walk into town but have a great beachfront location.

My family and I stayed at Caties' Cove for the Thanksgiving holiday. The property was clean, equipped with all the essentials and located directly on the beach. We spotted dolphins in the ocean and had an amazing time enjoying the beautiful views of the water from the porch. The owner was helpful and responsive. We enjoyed Surf City and look forward to returning to Catie's cove.
