Just what I needed after a long 9 hour drive from Switzerland! Not what I would expect from 4-star accommodation. There was lots of dust and cobwebs throughout the villa so it had not been cleaned well. I didn't find the kitchen as well equipped as other self-catering villas that I have stayed in previously - there was 1 small chopping knife and 1 tiny chopping board to use for preparing meals for a family of 4\. Most of the crockery didn't look clean either. We were also surprised that there was no small grocery store on-site so you need to drive to the nearest town to get the essentials. It was very quiet on-site at the end of August with very little going on around the site / lake and the Beach Club was closed. It felt as though we were there out of peak holiday season which was not the case. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before and had a price tag of 9 euros... the breakfast was a laughable collection of a few jams, butter, and some warm bread. There were a few slices of gouda, but only had 2 - was afraid other guests wouldn't get some food in them. Oh, and the breakfast "chef" tried to get into my room in the morning :)) he was vigorously trying to unlock the old school lock at around 9:30am... when the che k-in was at 11am.... I was hoping he would say the first bkreakfast was a test - and he was there for premium room service.
