Woodland Trails Cabin on 130 acres with wildlife and miles of private trails
The Woodland Trails Cabin overlooks the St. Croix River Valley. Located on 130 acres, there are over three miles of private trails for hiking and snowshoeing (we provide snowshoes).
From May through October, a complimentary Golf Cart is provided for touring the trails in comfort.
Your well-behaved one or two dogs are welcome.
This cabin has all the modern conveniences including air conditioning, wood-burning fireplace, internet, two TVs and a spacious, fully-equipped kitchen. Outside there is a fire pit with wood provided.
Bring your four-wheelers or snowmobiles. In Pine County, it is legal to ride on the roadside to a major trail system 1/2 mile north of the cabin. We have plenty of parking for trailers.
While our address is Hinckley, we are located 23 miles east of Hinckley, near the St. Croix River and the Wisconsin border. We are just four miles from Danbury, Wisconsin.
We are an easy two-hour drive from the Twin Cities, St. Cloud or Eau Claire and just over an hour from Duluth.
Besides enjoying the view, perhaps with a real-wood fire in the fireplace, guests enjoy watching the birds at feeders outside.
Two casinos are nearby: St. Croix Casino in Danbury and Grand Casino in Hinckley.
Canoeing and tubing on the St. Croix and Namekagan Rivers through Pardun Conoe Rental in Danbury.
Four-wheeling? Bring yours or rent from Throttle RX Rentals in Danbury.
St. Croix State Park, Minnesota's largest, has activities in every season. Crex Meadows Wildlife Area in Grantsburg has great wildlife watching, particularly during spring and fall migrations. Forts Folle Avoine in Webster, Wisconsin is a reproduction of an 1803 fur trading post.

This was my 7th or 8th stay at Woodland Trails Cabin. The bird watching, golf cart rides, and the beautiful cabin are what bring me back. John and Sandra are fantastic as well as the rest of the staff who keep the cabin, lodge and trails looking fabulous. I can't say enough about this property!
Wow. Just wow! What a wonderful cabin and property! We couldn't have asked for a nicer, more relaxing stay. It's obvious the care and feeling that has gone into making this place something really special. The attention to detail, in everything, is amazing. Thank you both for sharing this little piece of heaven!
Woodland Trails Cabin is a great place to stay. This place was spotless! The cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at numerous places. The bird watching was fabulous and our dog loved watching squirrels and golf cart rides. Thank you for offering this beautiful place to stay!Sally and Mike
Property was beautiful and we can't wait to stay again. We spent a lot of time sitting on the screen in porch watching the birds and squirrels. The golf cart was used daily riding the trail and still found a new trail on the last day.
This was or third year here and we love it. The place is always so clean and the owners are great! It feels like home when we are there. We take our dog and she just loves to run in the woods and chase the squirrels. Would recommend this place to everyone!!!!
We and our dogs had a great time! The property is stunning (it was peak fall colors) and the trails are awesome. We had so much fun riding around in the golf cart, hanging by the fire and relaxing in the well appointed cabin.
My husband & I had a relaxing time at the cabin. It was very clean, cozy, and had everything you needed. Of note, the lodge is not too far away from the cabin, so you do have neighbors. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved riding around in the golf cart!
This is my 6th stay at this property. I come for peace and tranquility. We love watching the birds and hiking through the property. And we always love going to the local meat raffle in Danbury (4 miles away).
The cabin is great, well stocked with whatever implements you may need for cooking. The beds are very comfortable and the new grill is great. Enjoyed hiking the many trails on the property and the bird feeder is fantastic!
We have been to Woodland trails many times! Cabin is clean, comfortable and beautifully located. Enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife. Our favorite place to stay and unwind away from home!
We love coming here! Its the first place we look at when we plan our spring trip. It's so nice that we have miles of hiking trails for us and the pups to enjoy right out the door. We got out each day. The kitchen has everything we need. We enjoyed relaxing by the firepit and the fireplace.Thank you for sharing your space with us!
This is a great place to stay if you love nature! Birdcwatching out the windows, miles of trails to enjoy right out the door, well stocked kitchen, a welcoming feeling when you walk in the door, and dog friendly keeps us coming back.
Thank you!
This is the third time we’ve stayed here for our anniversary. The cabin always has everything we need for cooking breakfast and dinner. We also enjoy that they have the grill there for our use. We appreciate that they allow dogs. We have a pair of Goldens that love to run free. I think that they enjoyed hiking the trails more than we did.
