Peaceful, relaxing

The owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake.

Schönes Hotel in ruhiger Lage

Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb und in ruhiger Lage direkt am See. Die Besitzerin ist sehr nett und bemüht, die Zimmer sauber und geräumig mit Blick auf den See. Mit dem Tuk Tuk ist man in 10 Minuten / für unter 2 Euro am Strand.

Prachtig uitzicht vanuit de kamer over het meer.

Lieve mensen, heerlijk eten we hebben hier onze eerste traditionele curry gegeten en gevraagd of het iets minder scherp kon geen probleem. Kamer is ruim en van alle gemaken voorzien goede klamboe en plafonventilatie

What amazing service for my mum's 79th birthday.

The hotel is nestled in the jungle along a dirt path. Our room had a balcony, with chairs, looking over the jungle and the lake, incredibly tranquil and beautiful. It was perfect even in the rain. We were treated superbly by the staff who wrote happy birthday mum in palm leaves on the bed and produced a cake with a firework fountain on top. All the Tuk tuk drivers new exactly where to take us and it was less than 10 minutes drive from the station - negotiate the price. The owner told us how much to expect.

Great intimate hotel by the lake

The friendliness of the staff and the setting were unique. The shower lacked in pressure but this hotel is for people wanting something a bit different from the big hotels in the centre of Hikkaduwa

Un coin de paradis

L'endroit est magnifique et paisible. L'idéal pour se reposer dans une nature luxuriante à proximité d'un lac somptueux. Depuis la terrasse de la résidence, on peut observer une multitude d'animaux sans même bouger. Un canoé est à disposition pour des balades sur le lac! Le personnel et la propriétaire sont très accueillant et vous considère presque comme un membre de la famille. La villa ne dispose que de quelques chambres ce qui fait de vous des hôtes privilégiés!

Relaxing stay

Villa bird lake is beautiful and relaxing. The rooms have amazing views over the lake, and the beach and town are only a few KMs away. A lovely place to stay.
