Proposed to my Wife here in the garden...unforgettable experience!!!

Great hotel in excellent location. Would definitely recommend staying there and will stay there again! The decor of the public area was exciting, it is a well preserved historic space and shows the old and the new. The Candy Bar is an adorable little bar with tasty libations and an always rotating cast of characters. However, I would recommend with a name like that, add a drink with an actual candy name like “Chocolate Kiss” martini , served with …what else, but a chocolate kiss candy as a garnish. Too obvious? The rooms-Ours was definitely a Minimalist room, perhaps too much of one. The bed was great and the sink color unique but it needed a little oomph. But as I stated before, I would definitely stay there again…it’s quirky and I love quirky! The staff were all great!

There were some cobb webs in the room, but aside from that it felt clean for an overnight stay. I was disappointed no Black artists were featured in the book about artist's behind the hotel. It's a very well located hotel.

Great location to many excellent areas in Detroit. Big rooms and great bathrooms with shower and tub in the room. Friendly staff.
