Our beautiful 60 x 65 foot completely fenced in backyard provides you with the privacy you deserve and peace of mind knowing your pet has plenty of leg room to romp about. Unlike most properties in this community, ours is flat without dangerous rocks jetting out of the ground or steep slopes and is equipped with a spectacular 4 foot diameter burn area circular fire pit with firewood provided, hand made Guatemalan Hammock, a gas grill, table with 4 chairs, and Adirondack chairs - the perfect environment for a family and friends get together for a BBQ.

Enjoy Wireless internet throughout the home / back yard and Basic Cable TV (150+ Channels). The living room features a HUGE 65 INCH FLAT SCREEN TV with an XBOX One S & a Playstation 4 which play CDs, DVDs, Blue-rays and have activated Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Commercial Free Hulu Plus Accounts giving you access to thousands of movies and TV shows at the touch of a button. Video gamers rejoice because the XBOX One S & PS4 are loaded with a staggering amount of top notch awesome games and we also offer an Authentic Coin Op Arcade Cabinet as well. With 100s of games from all genres, satisfying gaming experiences can be had by young and old, casual and hardcore gamers alike. We also offer a 40 inch flat screen TV in the master bedroom with YouTube TV live and streaming Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

Highland Lakes Cottage features 3 bedrooms (Bedding Provided) - 1 Queen & 2 Fulls (All Memory Foam Mattresses), 1 full bathroom (Tub, Shower, Toilet, Sink), 1 Laundry Room with commercial coin op washer and dryer, and an 8 x 20 Sun Room, Living Room / Dining Room, and a spacious Kitchen with a Waist High Oven (no bending) Ample parking is also provided in the front yard.

Guests have access to any one of the 5 lakes with a total of 7 beaches in the community (no gasoline powered boats permitted on the lakes) to enjoy life guarded swimming & great fishing. Great hiking & boat rentals are only 12 min away at Waywayanda State Park.

Right on the corner of our block, just a 3 minute walk away, you will find a beautiful lake with baseball diamonds, basketball courts, tennis courts, jungle gym, and a concession stand with a bathroom as well. Enjoy long walks, bike rides, or a jog down winding country roads.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area as well ... Snow Ski Resort, Water Park, Bike Park, Golf, and Zipline Tours 10 minutes away, Swimming, Fishing, Boating, Hiking, Restaurants, Drive-In Movie Theater, Regular Movie Theater, Wineries, Mountain Biking, Mini Golf, Indoor Ice Skating, Bowling, Laser Tag, Horseback Riding, Museums, Paintball, Skydiving, Zoo, Specialty Shops, Hot Air Balloon Rides, State Parks, Mall Shopping, Farmers Markets, Antique Shops ... oh and did I mention Relaxation ...

Highland Lakes is a Private Community in which all residents are registered with the town. As per a New Town Ordinance, all renters / tenants must pay a registration fee (Mandatory Fee added to each booking automatically) and must provide me with the First and Last Name of each member of your party, including minors, the Home Address and telephone number of the person who booked the reservation as well as state and plate info for vehicles. I am required to provide you with a copy of the By-Laws which you will find in the compartment of the coat rack mirror at the entrance of the cottage.

During the Summer Months, registered tenants my obtain parking decals & beach tags at $2 per day per tenant. Beach tags may obtained in the club house office, I suggest bringing an ID with you in case you are asked for it.

$ 85.00 Pet Fee applies where applicable. We do not allow cats.

Holiday Fees are built into your quote and apply where applicable.

Note: Minimum Stay - 2 Nights, Maximum Stay 21 Nights

Autumnal relaxation

Great Highland Lakes Cottage! Clean & well stocked kitchen. Be careful going up or down Breakneck Rd. Thus time of year every view is beautiful! We did lots of small road trips taking in the sites and autumnal views!!

Perfect weekend

My family was down for the Spartan race weekend. The property is in a perfect location for proximity to the mountain, as well as Beaches and playgrounds for the kids. It comfortably fit four adults and two kids, and the fenced yard was great for the dog. Michael is a thoughtful and responsive owner, and we are looking forward to staying again next time we are down.

Nice accomodation

This place was perfect for our needs. We were a short distance from family but had our own space when we needed it which was nice. The area is beautiful and it is a short drive to the lake, walking trails or the store. Would stay there again for sure.

Needs new mattresses. Ancient sofabed only livrm seating.So worn out like sitting on the floor.Had basics and they worked.Good appliances, AC window units worked well.House in disrepair

Highland Lakes

The beds, bathroom and kitchen were clean. We enjoyed the gaming systems a great deal. We also enjoyed to outdoor space with firepit and hammock. My kids enjoyed the outdoor toys and ability to fill up and small kids pool to play. Beach 1 was very close to the house but walking there would have been a challenge with 2 young kids on a somewhat busy road. Overall, we had a good time. The owner was quick in responding to my questions and concerns and made adjustments with our needs which was appreciated. I was not thrilled having to pay to use the washer and dryer and the home does need some updating.

Very nice place

Was a very nice place, felt like home when we got there. Has plenty of things to do in the area, as well as at the house. Nice and quiet with some good scenery, our dog loved the fenced in yard. Mike was very attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here.

Great place to stay

I took my wife, 2 tweens, and our lab for a weekend ski trip and stayed at the cottage. Perfect size for us, big fenced-in backyard for our dog to roam around worry-free, and only minutes to the slopes. Owner was very responsive to an issue with the sheets which were resolved promptly.

Highland Cottage stay

Easy to find and navigate from. We were there for my sister in law’s memorial service . Weather did not permit us to use or discover all the things to do there. Hopefully the next trip we will. Everything you could think of needing was provided and labeled. Will definitely stay again. Very affordable. Thank you again for a comfortable stay.

Perfectly appointed, cozy stay

This home was perfect for me and my two small dogs to get away and enjoy the Highland Lakes area. The house is beautifully appointed and has every convenience. The backyard is wonderful and completely fenced in and private. Michael was available by text and was helpful. I look forward to future stays at this adorable cottage.

Quaint Cottage with Great Backyard

For our small group, this was an ideal getaway for the Labor Day weekend. The backyard was fantastic, private and had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. It was totally fenced in, so we could let our toddler run freely without worry. There was an amazing firepit we used both nights of our stay and lots of chairs and tables. Michael was an exceptional host and I would definitely book this property again.

Cozy Winter Getaway

Great Little Cottage

My husband is through hiking the Appalachian Trail and we needed a place to stay for a long weekend so he could rest. This cottage was the perfect place to stay. It’s located only eight minutes from the Stairway to Heaven parking area of the AT. The owner was attentive and answered all of our questions. The cottage had everything we needed. The fenced backyard was an added bonus so we didn’t have to take our two small dogs out on leashes. Thank you for a great stay!

Convenient location to lakes and mountain. We chose this because we had dogs and he had a secured fenced in back yard. It was perfect. I also got the high score on the Ms Pac Man game. Thanks Mike, you rock

Nice Lake Cottage

Clean. Nice yard. Close to Beach #1, small lake for swimming with lifeguards...very nice. Loved the coffee station and the vintage touches. Comfortable beds. Loved bringing my dogs. Patio and floors could use a little upgrade. Wonderful Host!!! Had a very enjoyable time. Thank you Mike

Awesome experience!

Cute cottage centrally located to all Sussex County has to offer. Cottage was well equipped with everything from coffee to towels. Very clean and well-kept. We had no concerns during our stay but owner did reach out a few times to check in and make sure everything was okay. Highly recommend!

Great house for family. Nice fenced in backyard to keep the dog and toddler close and safe. Home was clean and just as described. The beach is beautiful but it was too early in season for swimming. Lifeguards on duty only weekend and everyday starting June 24. Will plan on returning but later in season to enjoy the beaches and water park. We went to Castle fun center and enjoyed our stay!
