Fantastic cottage with amazing attention to detail
We were lucky to book this lovely cottage at short notice as our previous accommodation was cancelled at the last minute. What a result! The first thing we noticed was how spotlessly clean it was. It had a nice cosy atmosphere and a lot of thought had gone into making it a home from home. After looking around for a while we realised what attention to detail the owners had taken. The cottage was equipped with everything you could possibly need, from a sewing kit to notepad and pens, games and books. The kitchen was well laid out with a range of equipment, all clean and tidy. There was even a wall-mounted tv in both bedrooms. The garden was pretty and well-tended and there was a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and pegs for the line.
When we noticed that the washing machine wasn't working properly we called the owner at lunchtime and when we returned home after an afternoon out, the machine had been replaced with a brand new one!
We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Kathy, and discovered that she and her partner had spent 4 years renovating the cottage.
Chinley is a really cute little town with friendly people, a couple of nice pubs, shops and great walks nearby, and is well situated for the local attractions in the Peak District. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore the Peak District.
