Have plans to go to Biltmore? Want to spend a day at Chimney Rock State Park or the beach at Lake Lure? Looking to scout out some waterfalls? Want to shop in downtown Hendersonville? Excited to eat ice cream in Black Mountain? South Fork is a great little cottage to be your landing spot. It offers a comfortable stay in a very central location. This view has been described as "...fun, beautiful, peaceful, and stimulating all simultaneously!" Offering two bedrooms and two baths. The upstairs bedroom has a set of twin bunk beds and a bathroom, a kitchen, a living room, and a fabulous deck. The downstairs has an open bedroom, a private bathroom, and a laundry area. The lower level and lower level deck are both slightly lower than standard ceiling heights. This small cottage was built long ago, but a recent remodel has made it very modern and simplistic. It's a stylish little property that is perfect for up to four people. There's parking for one vehicle, and from the parking area, it is approximately a 50-foot walk to the home. A modern, stylish appeal and a nice upper deck with super cool views are the main draws to this property. For All Seasons This home can be enjoyed throughout the year with the area's temperate climate and beauty. Springtime brings the blooming of the dogwood and redbud trees as well as the azaleas, rhododendrons, and mountain laurels. Summer brings lush greenery, and the autumn colors are extraordinary. Winters are mild, and with less tree obstruction, the views are incredible. Add the year-round sounds of the Rocky Broad River, and you have peaceful perfection! The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area and surrounding communities offer several entertainment and activity options. See the Amenities and Notes for just a sampling of what is available. The kitchen was well equipped for a rainy weekend. We did a fair amount of cooking. The porch has a lovely view of of some rocky cliffs. The interior is well decorated and has a cozy feel. The vibe is excellent for a mountain getaway, and the price is great! We would stay here again! Cons: The satellite internet barely works most of the time but our phones did end up working fairly well. I think the satellite dish needs to be replaced or repositioned. The house was perfect for our family of 4\. All appliances worked well and we had no issues during our stay. The parking situation was tight, we have a truck and the house next door was occupied leaving our spot right at the edge of a steep drop. We enjoyed being so close to the Village and Park for Chimney Rock. We left measuring spoons/cups and a collander which were missing and we needed them for cooking meals. There were two great decks for relaxing after a long day of site seeing. We were not prepared for the terrain of Bat Cave Rd, but it added a bit of adventure each time we arrived or departed the cottage. It was a great experience. ##### Nancy C. Driveway up to cabin was a little dicey but okay. Would suggest having an iron and ironing board. There was no power to the oven, only the stovetop when we were there but everything else worked. There is a steep single lane track up to the cabin which was a little scary at nighttime.
