Welcome to our trail's end cabin! The cabin provides the best of both worlds with the look and feel of a mountain cabin, yet it is complete with every modern amenity like wifi & smart TV. The house sits on over 1 1/2 acre of land that provides plenty of parking and privacy for larger groups Our 3 bedroom/2 bath cabin is located 1 mile from Unicoi State Park and only 4 miles from Helen, GA. The national forest boundary is literally just outside the door and provides excellent views of wildlife. The cabin provides the best of both worlds with the look and feel of a mountain cabin, yet it is complete with every modern amenity like wifi & smart TV. The house sits on over 1 1/2 acre of land that provides plenty of parking and privacy for larger groups. We have plenty of parking in the circular driveway for families with multiple cars. You will really enjoy the fire pit in the evenings located in the center of the driveway. It's the perfect place to sit at night and roast marshmallows. The wood burning fireplace in the living room is great on cold winter evenings as well. The property adjoins the national forest and affords you the chance to get some great views of the local wildlife. Deer can frequently be seen from the screened in porch in the morning when you are starting your day with a cup of coffee. Bears also frequent the are quite regularly. It is recommended that you do not leave trash unsecured outside and that you keep the gates locked to the deck. From beginning to end, the entire rental process was very smooth with excellent communication. Everything was exactly as described, and a brief hold-up getting in upon arrival was handled immediately with ease! I may have missed the detail that there is a hot tub on the porch, so we weren't prepared with suits, but that wasn't really an issue. The location is within 5 minutes from Unicoi State Park, and very convenient to Helen (especially if you forget something and have to "run back" to the cabin to grab it). We slept 6 adults and a 4 year old very comfortably, with plenty of space to eat together and sit/hang out, inside and out (screened porch and deck). We even had a "welcoming committee" black bear visitor within 30 minutes of arrival - we saw him off the deck just past the tree marking the National Forest - he didn't even seem to notice us as he made his way through. It sits nestled among trees and rhododendron adjacent to a national park. My 13 year old daughter loved it as much as I did and is begging to return. The deck and screened in porch provided spaces to breath in the fresh air. Our furbabies felt right at home and enjoyed walking the grounds. Scott, the property owner, is absolutely wonderful. We wanted to cap off the summer with our kids by getaway and relaxing out in the woods/nature. Took in a few activities with zip lining, BBQ , fire pit (s’mores) and board games.
