"We just returned from our stay at Baha Mar, and overall we had a great time, but there are definitely a few things I'd want future guests to know. The biggest downside was the food. It was extremely expensive and, in most cases, just wasn't very good. On top of the menu prices, everything had a 15% service charge plus a 10% VAT added, which made meals much more expensive than expected. Even a piña colada was around $20, and surprisingly, they weren't even consistent from one bar to another on resort grounds. If you're looking for a quiet couples' getaway, be aware that there are lots of families with young children throughout the resort. Also, I expected a more laid-back island vibe, but many guests dressed very formally, even first thing in the morning to grab coffee. Now for the positives, because there were many! Our room was beautiful, the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, and the resort grounds are absolutely stunning. The water park was one of the highlights of the trip. It's included with your stay (otherwise admission is around $160 per person), and the lazy river was fantastic. The beach area was also beautiful, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the ocean. Would I go back? Probably, but I'd definitely budget more for food or plan to eat off property a few times. Baha Mar is a gorgeous resort with outstanding amenities, but the dining experience and high prices kept it from being a perfect vacation."

"Good but overpriced. Surprise of a huge daily deposit that is in the small print. We saw multiple people at check in that weren’t aware of it. Food was excellent but slow service. Room was very comfortable but they do turn the AC down at night. Views and balconies are incredible however walls are very thin and we had neighbors that partied loudly all night which was unpleasant. No security on the grounds that we ever saw. Bars ran out of mixers. Excursion staff was very helpful. Pools were clean and amazing. Overall it did not meet expectations but we still had a wonderful time."

"The staff were really nice and knowledgeable. They have happy hour 730-9pm for free every day as complementary. You just need a coupon from the front desk. Their breakfast is not the best. They don’t really have any options. It’s just waffles, bread, eggs, coffee and juice every day. The location is convenient. It’s close to downtown and excursions ports."

"I've stayed in many IHG hotels, and even though this Holiday Inn is an old property, I believe the staff works extraordinarily hard to make everything as good as it could possibly be. 😁. Breakfast was hot and quality and choice of items very good. Everything in my room worked fine. And a quick note to thank both from desk ladies, when I checked in with Chantelle and when I checked out with Dandra (spelling?), they were great! And the kitchen staff also showed great customer service with smiles and friendly interactions. All good. I think I have only the suggestion that the hotel would benefit from a bit of updating in the rooms when possible. I would certainly stay here again but almost entirely because of the staff!"
