Self checkin was a nightmare. I used the kiosk and received a message that my room wasn’t ready. After waiting over an hour and it being well beyond the checkin time I called the hotel who told me they didn’t show I used the kiosk and I needed to go to the front desk. So I walked all they way across the building and waited in line for 30 minutes only to check my email when I was next in line and receive the notice that my room wasn’t ready ready and to go back to the kiosk! I was on a non smoking floor and was woken at all hours of the night and early morning to the strong smell of smoke. It was like there was someone smoking in my room. We upgraded to the Havana suite which was a great size and the price I got was equally good. The room was a little dated though. The cabinet doors at the wetbar area where kind of falling off, the carpet in the room had stains, the furniture cushions were a vinyl material and were not comfy, and the fridge had a huge block of frozen ice over the fan inside. We stayed 5 days and some of these comforts were necessary. Like the couch and the fridge to be clean and functioning properly. A positive is you can opt for a later checkout time at a low cost per interval you extend to. I took advantage of this because we had an event the day we checked out and having access to the room until 3pm was nice. However, the housekeeping staff knocked on our door several times to check and see when we were checking out. They should have had this info.
