FYI we do have 3 smaller houses (4 house in total on the same property, priced individually starting at $89). If you are looking to spend less money rent one of the smaller homes, please just ask or checkout velasvilla.com This listing is for the largest house only! The Space Max guest 10 (you may make a request for more or book 1 to 4 of my guesthouses for larger parties, right next door (on the same lot)). You can book all four of our guesthouses for family reunions, school reunions, and wedding parties! We do have a damage deposit but don't tie up your money (no charges or authorizations will be held). \*STAY FOR A WEEK & SAVE MONEY JUST ASK\* Vela's Villa, Main House is great for weddings, private/social events, or for large family vacations! This house is mechanically modernized for comfort and convenience. It is fully-furnished and tastefully decorated with charming antiques and graceful decor. It boasts a huge living room, a formal dining room, and a bonus room downstairs that can be used as a den or an extra bedroom. The living room and bedrooms feature flat screen televisions and cable programming. Also included are a fully-equipped kitchen, bath towels, and bed linens. It sleeps up to twelve comfortably. We do charge a damage deposit, yet NO charges or authorizations will be made to the guest's payment method unless the host needs to make a claim. Guest Access Please make yourself at home and use whatever we have available. Including outdoor space front/back porch and garden area. We also can stock guesthouse at guest request (with wine, steaks, ice cream, etc.,) ... Guest can request this service once house is booked via email (fees apply)... Interaction with Guests We are semi locals (we have a groundskeeper on call that lives near by). We would love to advise you on how to really enjoy this town! The Neighborhood Vela’s Villa, Main house is part of a private little neighborhood within a neighborhood–a group of four houses sharing the same lot, located a block away from historic Harlan, Kentucky’s downtown. Nestled in a valley in the ancient and enchanted Appalachian Mountains. Great walking community!! Getting around You can walk to a few local restaurants, the river and parks! This house is great because you are in a very rural area, but you are within two blocks of historical downtown Harlan. So you get the quaint town experience with out being isolated. Other Things to Note Make sure you BYOB because this town is Moist (semi dry (although alcohol is legal to have and consume alcohol within your private dwelling)). Two restaurant currently serve alcohol The Portal (pizzeria) and Ken & Paul's Family Steakhouse. Moist defined: with regard to the sale of alcohol, Harlan is classified as a moist county—a county in which alcohol sales are prohibited (a dry county), but containing a 'wet' city, in this case Cumberland and Lynch, where package alcohol sales are allowed.
