Stayed one night and unfortunately had a disappointing experience, especially considering the price point. I already had a headache before arriving, and the first room had an extremely strong bleach odor that immediately made it worse. Even a staff member acknowledged how strong the smell was. I requested a room change, which the front desk accommodated, but later that evening I discovered dried blood stains on the bedding in the second room. At that point, since I was checking out early the next morning, I chose not to switch rooms again.
The staff was polite, and the location is great, but cleanliness and room quality are extremely important to me, especially at over $400/night. I expected a much better experience.

So many options for places to stay in Charleston & very glad we chose The Emeline! Great boutique hotel - upscale, safe, clean, quiet, well maintained, nice amenities. Centrally located - easy walk to City Market, the waterfront & the shopping district. Will definitely stay here again.
