"Great communication with our host, home was clean and decorated beautifully. The kitchen is perfectly equipped, and included many extra touches. Great location in walking distance to many restaurants, etc. It was an exceptionally hot few days, so the main a/c unit couldn’t keep up, but the window unit kept us very comfortable in the bedroom."

"There was a lot of construction outside, which made it difficult to approach the entrance, park, and unload our car. We were there to celebrate our golden anniversary. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to the pier. Some of the staff were unable to help with our questions regarding directions."

"Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and everything about the hotel itself was great. My only concern is the unexpected charges to my card. While we were staying there, there was an attempted charge of about $170 even though we did not order room service or purchase anything extra. They said they didn’t know why. My card was locked at the time, so the charge did not go through. Today, after my card was unlocked, the hotel charged me $38. I haven’t received any emails, receipts, or explanations showing what these charges are for. I would just like more transparency about the additional charges and an explanation of why my card continues to be charged after our stay. Other than this issue, we had a great experience at the hotel."

"Our stay while visiting our daughter was perfect. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous and centrally located to where we needed to be. I love that there was a washer and dryer so when we got home it was easy to just unpack. Hosts were informative and responded quickly. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you so much."
Spacious 5-bedroom house with AC in beautiful Portsmouth

"The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated, and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to vacation here, but the house was not clean, the floors were filthy, leaving our socks and feet black if we went without shoes.We did clean all the floors, several times while there, because it took several cleanings before our socks and feet did not turn black, and before we checked out. The trash cans, one large and one small were overflowing when we arrived.The owners did send people out to pick up trash, although it took a couple of days. I would suggest providing more trash receptacles, especially, since there is a raccoon that frequents the house. There are a few things that need to be fixed if this host is to successfully house 18 people. There is not enough hot water, there is not enough water pressure either. The upstairs shower is very tiny, I would suggest a removable shower head as it is extremely difficult to rinse off in that small of a space. The refrigerator is tiny, RV size and not nearly enough room for food and drinks for several people. We used two large coolers in addition to the refrigerator. The dishwasher is not secured and does not get the dishes clean, we opted to hand wash the dishes The kitchen breaker blows if you use the toaster and one other outlet. The amount of beds do not accommodate 18 people either, thankfully we brought a queen size and full size mattress with us. The mattresses were not the most comfortable either, per all the guests."
Cozy 4 Bed 2 Bath Home - Norfolk, Centrally Located

"We had a nice stay overall and appreciated many of the updates and features of the home. The newly refinished floors were beautiful, and the kitchen and bathroom were very well done. The updated fixtures and faucets gave the space a modern feel, and the recessed lighting was a great touch—it provided excellent lighting throughout the home. Being a corner house made it easy to find, and the location was convenient with a reasonable distance to many attractions. The price was also affordable and felt like a good value.There were a few areas that could use improvement. We noticed ants gathering in the corner near the window, which was something that should be addressed. The thermostat was locked and set at 73 degrees, which may not be comfortable for every guest depending on personal preference or weather conditions. The back door also had a missing window and door handle, which affected the overall condition and security of that area.A few small amenities would have made the stay more convenient. There were no pot holders available for cooking, and while dish soap was provided, there was no dishwasher soap available. The bath towels were also much smaller than expected—they were closer to the size of hand towels rather than standard bath towels.One other concern was that the entrance code was not provided until about 15 minutes before our arrival, which made planning and arriving a little stressful.Overall, the home has a lot of potential and many beautiful updates."

"Loved our stay! The location was in the middle of everything and we walked practically all of Norfolk! Communication was stellar and even with minor hiccups in our stay, the Owner was on top of it. The CLEANEST countertops ever. Would definitely stay again!"
