Relaxing is easy & affordable at “The Frisky Dolphin”, a spacious 3 BD, 2BA private beach house overlooking the tranquil waters of the magnificent world-famous Chesapeake Bay. Enjoy spectacular sunrises as you lounge on the over-sized rear deck complete with a stunning 180-degree panoramic view of the Bay and a quick commute to ALL the happenings in the 757! Reserve your stay today and enjoy your own private beach on this pristine swath of the Chesapeake Bay! In Season rates run from May 15 thru September 4 and run from Saturday to Saturday. Out of Season dates are flexible and require a 3- day minimum and are at reduced rates. We are strictly devoted to family-oriented vacations. Buckroe Beach is on the Bay and is a ¾ mile stretch of white sand beach with an abundant & diverse ecosystem of plants, birds, and sea life. Pods of migrating Bottle Nose Dolphins frequent the surf in front of the unit frequently providing a spectacular show dancing on top of the water performing aerial stunts. Bird watchers will delight watching the Brown Pelican, osprey and even the majestic Bald Eagle soar overhead at close range hunting their next meal. Sliding glass doors span across the entire back of the house spilling out on to the over -sized rear deck from the living room, master bedroom and one guest room. Each room has a clear view of the sand and the surf. Drift off to sleep listening to the sound of the waves gently lapping the shore. The living room is spacious and features a fireplace with a beautiful stone chimney and a set of dual sliding glass doors spilling out on to the deck. The living room is complete with comfy furniture, mini stereo system, and a 60” flat screen TV. The master bedroom provides increased privacy with its own private slider to the rear deck and on the opposite side of the living space from the guest rooms. This spacious master features a new king size bed, ceiling fan, master bathroom & a 46” flat screen TV. Two guest bedrooms radiate off the living room on the opposite side of the house and have a full bathroom located in between. The rear guest bedroom includes a comfortable king size bed, ceiling fan, beautiful wall mirror and private slider to the rear deck. The front guest bedroom features a Queen size bed, ceiling fan & a toddler bed. The front guest room does not have direct access to the rear deck, providing the perfect set up to accommodate small children. The kitchen is complete with a wet bar and fully equipped with a stainless-steel refrigerator, dishwasher, double wall oven, cooktop with grill, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig and all the necessities to prepare a home cook meal. The dining room radiates off the kitchen and includes a solid wood table with 6 chairs and a high- chair for small children. There is a set of sliding glass doors leading to the front deck complete with a gas grill and a screened in front porch. The front porch is equipped with a table, 4 chairs and an electronic dart board for some family fun out of the sun. The rear deck has a variety of deck furniture to relax in the shade or to soak of the rays including 4 Captain chairs, a sun lounger, patio table with 6 chairs shaded by a large solar cantilever umbrella that lights up a night. The private beach transitions into a well-maintained public beach featuring a concrete Boardwalk, Nautical Playground, Live Stage, Watercraft Rentals, Picnic Area with Gazebo’s and more. The Frisky Dolphin is a quick commute to many family fun attractions & historic sites via Interstate 64 including Busch Gardens, Water Country, Fort Monroe, Colonial Williamsburg, and more. It was nice and spacious and a 50 foot walk to a nice private beach. We were there in December and it was a little chilly, but pleasant. Loved that two bedrooms both had sliders to the deck. We were able to fall asleep to the sound of waves. The kitchen was well equipped. The house wasn’t as clean as I prefer, but not terribly dirty. Plenty of amenities: beach chairs, umbrella, games, etc. I would probably bring my own glasses, coffee mugs, and tableware, as those items were few. The views out of the entire eastern side of the house, via sliding glass doors, are show-stoppers. The house has everything you need to unplug on your own or host a few friends or family members - furniture set-up is great for this. Beyond the beach, which is so close and so great for dog walks, Phoebus and Fort Monroe are a mile+ south with great shops, pubs and seafood. I will definitely return! ##### Stephen F. Weather was gorgeous, no one around in the beach. Mid September is a great time to go to miss the crowds. Huge deck facing the water, you can just sit there and hear the waves crashing and relax. Only one thing that I can mention that we didn’t like was the sand spurs in the grass all around the house, they got stuck in my dogs paws every time we would go out to potty, so be aware of that, they are super painful. Other than that it was a wonderful house, property, beach and the host Liz was quick to respond to any questions I had! I would definitely go again! ##### susan h. The weather cooperated for the most part and we spent a little time on the beach using the private access. We didn't spend a lot of time at the house other than sleeping, as we were exploring Hampton-Norfolk-Virginia Beach for the first time. But it was safe, private and comfortable. There might have been a glitch in communicating with the property maintenance in between the last guest leaving and our arrival as there were a few dirty dishes out and their laundry still in the washing machine when we went to put our bedding in the morning we left. But those were super small inconveniences against all the positives. Liz was a good communicator through the Vrbo message system, which was much appreciated. ##### Nigel F. We stayed the last weekend of April to beginning of May and the weather was awesome. The private beach access was so nice and the sunrises each morning from the deck or the beach were simply gorgeous. Our dog loved the house, the deck (blocked off with no stairs which was nice) and doing walks on the beach. The house was cozy and a great size. One recommendation would be to update the living room couches to something a little more comfy. The area was quaint and small town vibe which we loved. We did a day trip to Jamestown one day and there’s plenty to do around and close by. Liz was great to work with when we had a minor issue that was out of her control near the end of our trip. She values her customers that stay here and it was much appreciated. We already have talked about wanting to come back sometime after the baby is born. This is a great house! The deck is wonderful and you can see the water from it, there's an umbrella on the deck to shade you while you sit outside and watch the water, the carpets are soft, the beds were comfortable and the sheets were soft, towels AND linens were provided, and the refrigerator was so huge AND it made ice (I know it seems silly to mention this detail, but I am in love with a fridge that makes ice). We are thinking of making this our annual beach rental. There's just one drawback that has nothing to do with the wonderful house. The bay is epic and the water is very gentle, so it's perfect for kids, but there are jellyfish. Everyone got stung except me. We were semi prepared with baking soda and hydrocortisone cream, so the stings were no big deal, but we were hesitant to be in the water as much as we wanted. We are going to buy jellyfish resistant sunscreen next year and see how that goes! ##### Shannon R.
