(32 reviews) The staff were great, very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. However, the hotel itself needs some major improvements, especially the room. The AC was leaking, leaving a puddle of water on the floor, and there weren’t enough towels to soak it up. The couch and chairs were very worn out, when you sit down, you sink right into them, and the tables and counters were peeling at the bottom. There were several other small issues that could use attention as well. Overall, it’s a very beautiful hotel with so much potential, and we still enjoyed our stay thanks to the wonderful staff. (25 reviews) Given the ratings/reviews & my experience with similar caliber properties around the world, I was disappointed in certain things. The security guard at the front gate of the property was extremely rude. Didn't welcome us but asked what we were doing there. Our driver was very taken back by his behavior & said he's never seen anyone so rude at this establishment. Two days prior to arrival, I was sent an email form w/ one of the questions asking when we'd be arriving. I selected the noon-2pm option & we arrived at 12:30pm. We were told that we were going to have to wait until 3pm to be taken to our villa. Check in had been advertised as 3pm, so I'm not exactly sure why they even provided a noon-2pm option on the form - it was misleading & set wrong expectations. They took our luggage to the villa & told us we could utilize the pool or beach while we waited. Well, our bathing suits were in our luggage so they had to fetch our luggage so we could change into our bathing suits. 3pm rolls around and no word. We ask at the pool bar & someone comes to us at 3:15pm to let us know we would be picked up in about 15min. Having to wait until AFTER the advertised check in time when we had been waiting 3hrs was extremely irritating. Another disappointment was the lack of bathroom toiletries that would be default at other places of this cost. Blackout blinds on 3 walls of windows but not the 4th in the bedroom. The view, privacy, activities, & hostess were great. (81 reviews) Our stay at the Rosalie Beach Eco Resort and Spa was generally very good. The environment was serene, the staff very courteous particularly Surnita and helpful in many ways and the turtle watching experience fantastic. The room was well-maintained and spacious, however, the door lock was not maintained…initially difficult to open. That was resolved. However, we believe that there can be improvements in certain aspects: The area at the suites 601- 604 is poorly lit…there’s a pole that once had a light and it needs to be restored. The grounds need more regular cutting…too many areas with high grass Better use can be made of the vast area between suites 601-604 and 500-503..maybe some benches and umbrellas There should be regular security walks particularly in the aforementioned areas and for guests wanting to watch the turtles at night The dining menu is extremely limited…we believe that the local dishes should be promoted both for breakfast and dinner. The Front Desk staff should be proactive in giving information on sites to visit e.g. the Emerald Pool that nearby.
