It’s in an old town close to Bratislava, with convenient connections to Vienna. The only downside is the bathroom design: the shower area isn’t very private, separated only by a partial glass wall. Its the best place to stay in Hainburg, has a restaurant/spa/wine bar on site. The room was very comfortable and attractively furnished. Staff was friendly and helpful. Sept 2025. This place is undersold on the site. It is a 200 year old monastry with vaulted ceilings. The fit out is excellent. I had a family room with connecting door to kids......everything worked, everything was clean and the staff were friendly (not much english spoken but very smiley and willing to help. Didn't eat there in the evening but breakfast was lovely of a bit pricey at 18 euro. Located in a Medieval village along The Danube with shops, grocery stores and hiking trails just a short walk away. We loved our room at Hotel Altes Kloster. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The converted 750 year old monastery was beautiful, cozy, quiet and within walking distance of restaurants and sights. It is an interesting town filled with historic sights and Incredible food. Gasthaus Haydnstuberl Inh.Stefan Weber was a wonderful restaurant. The Käsepätzle and Weiner Schnitzel vom Schwerin was amazing! We had the most delicious apple pie I have ever had at Mein Gebäck - Leyla Yilmaz. The poppy seed roll and donuts were also outstanding. Over all this was one of the most enjoyable stops on our trip. The staff demonstrated exceptional helpfulness and friendliness. While the cleanliness and comfort of the room were satisfactory, the absence of air conditioning was a notable inconvenience. Our accommodation was on the second floor, specifically in room 202\. Unfortunately, at 4:00 AM, the postal service trucks and vans began loading and unloading their cargo directly beneath our room.
