Half Way Point
Haddam was the half-way point for my daughter who lives in Maine and we're from PA. The Haddam house was a perfect home away from home experience we needed to spend time together as a family. The bridge is under construction but other then that it was a great place and great stay. Thank you!

Great Hidden Gem!
I stayed here with my 2 sons, it was very cute, comfortable, well appointed, and had a wonderful little beach that the children loved playing on. We had a wonderful stay and the views on the river were amazing! Absolutely worth another visit. Thank you!

A cozy cabin.
A cozy cabin and a wonderful table to work from while enjoying the beautiful view. I hope to visit when the weather is warmer to make use of the outside area by the river. Great hosts and easy to communicate with.

Wonderful stay on Connecticut river
Completely remodeled 1 bedroom home with a pull out sofa. Perfect for 4 people. Beautiful front yard on the river with a firepit and an outside bar made out of a boat! If you are headed to this area and need a place to stay, this place is for you!

Great Weekend Stay
We stayed for Friday and Saturday taking time to explore the area; Mystic, Chester and Old Saybrook to name a few. Great area restaurants, take in a show at the Goodspeed or just sit by the water and relax. Unfortunately our weather did not cooperate, but the dock/bar/fire pit area are beautiful for a relaxing day by the water. Thank you for sharing your cottage!

Great River House
Great place to relax, small and perfect. Loved the bald eagles, airport with small planes coming and going across the river, even saw the bridge open bridge close. Absolutely great waterfront

Great River Get Away
Exceptional Property !! Direct river access, great view, deep water boat dock, beach and steps to the water, 10 miles from the ocean, watch boats go by and small airplanes land across the river. We saw bald eagles daily ! Great clean property ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Convenient location for event at Riverhouse
This property was very convenient for staying within walking distance to the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station. The cottage was cozy and had all the amenities we needed for a short stay. It also had a nice outdoor area where we could sit and eat dinner by the river. The hosts were very easy to communicate with leading up to the visit and throughout our stay. The bedroom and space was a little small for a baby (in addition to two adults), but we were able to rent a travel crib from nearby and could fit in the hallway.

What a wonderful space! From the cute cottage to the outdoor fire pit and grill, this was a wonderful experience. Our absolute only issue was the bed. It was not a comfortable bed/pillows set up. John and Bestsy were very pleasant and easy to get in touch with. Check in and out was super easy. We absolutely enjoyed our stay, and thank John and Bestsy for sharing their wonderful space!

Waterfront Happiness
5 days of relaxation on the water's edge. Morning coffee on the dock, ending the day looking at the evening stars and listening to the water. Nice property, easy to hop back on the highway and explore the oceanfront or visit the local sites, yet tucked away in a quiet little location.

Awesome spot!
Second time there and it is a great place to stay. Easy access to many sites. The cottage is very well equipped and the hosts are so easy to communicate with. The beach makes it a perfect place to host family and friends.

Planes, Trains, and more!
We love watching the planes take off and land at the Goodspeed airfield across the river from the cottage. This year we saw two helicopters and a sea plane in action too. On occasion the Essex Steamtrain can be heard in the distance. Plenty of boats and jet skis motor through the No Wake Zone. If you’re lucky you’ll see the swing bridge open to allow a sailboat to pass by the Opera House. Little Meadow Road offers a front row seat for constant entertainment!

Small but perfect for the 5 of us
We really enjoyed ourselves at this beautiful home right in the river. The docks were perfect for our two jet skis and pontoon boat. It was nice just walking out and going for rides on the river. Loved the fire pit and the sandy area for the beach feel near the water. Everything was perfect. We had only one issue and it was the air conditioner and that was fixed immediately. The response time was remarkable. Thank you. We would def love to come back and stay here again.

Adorable Cottage on the CT River
We highly recommend this cozy cottage with wonderful access to the beautiful Connecticut River! We were four adults and it was the perfect place to stay for a local family wedding. We took full advantage of the dock and outdoor firepit. Local towns were charming with plenty of cute coffee places, shops and restaurants.

Great weekend getaway!
Lovely cabin with an absolutely perfect location. Sit by the water and enjoy the quiet and the gorgeous view. We got the fire pit going one night and it was fantastic. Cabin had everything we needed. We stayed in one night for dinner and games. Very comfy and cozy. Nearby to parks with hiking trails. Exactly what was needed to recharge and refresh ourselves. Would love to come back!

We had a wonderful romantic weekend at this cozy cottage. It’s updated and very clean in a great location with many nearby attractions. In warmer weather, I’m sure it’s a wonderful spot to enjoy the fire pit and the river.

Cutest cottage on the river
My husband and 1-year-old daughter had a wonderful time at John and Betsey's cottage! John was a great host; check in was smooth and straightforward. The space was perfect for us, with the full kitchen, good sized living room and bedroom. A bonus: the cottage was pretty easy to baby proof too. Look forward to visiting again, hopefully in the warmer weather so we can take more advantage of the outdoor space. :-)

Cozy with beautiful views
A great little get away. Very cozy, with everything I needed. While working from the dining table, I had a beautiful view of the river, opera house and bridge. I look forward to visiting again when the weather is warmer and I can enjoy the nice outside area right by the river.

Connecticut River Comfort
Such a wonderful stay at the cottage. Online photos exactly as listed. Very clean and comfortable conditions with a special bonus of the Firepit. Evenings by the fire overlooking the river were excellent. Would recommend to all !!

Peaceful retreat
The cottage has everything you need in a clean, organized manner, very welcoming, but the Riverside spot is the real gem. We sat out all day and watched the various boats go by, and small planes taking off, and that fabulous Swing Bridge. The morning sunrises were breathtaking. We were lucky enough to see bald eagles several times. The fall colors were just starting to turn – what an amazing spot for a peaceful getaway in October.

Peaceful getaway
Planned to go sight seeing first day but spent the entire day relaxing by the water. It was lovely. Watched a crane take a seagulls lunch he worked so hard for and at sunrise a Fish eagle flew above, landed not too far from us to watch him find breakfast. Thank you for an enjoyable restful stay. Awesome Location
The location is perfect and the unit had everything we needed. It was quite comfortable. Loved the set up by the water - firepit, plenty of seating, umbrellas for shade and also a picnic table under a deck. The owners were great to work with. The location gives easy access to restaurants.

Little Gem
Cozy cottage in an enchanting location with private park-like setting along the CT River. The Goodspeed Opera House provides a magical backdrop for the scenes unfolding along the waterfront. Trains, planes, boats and automobiles crossing the historic swing bridge provide endless entertainment.

AMAZING
Came here for a little peace and quiet...found so much more!! The Cottage itself is comfy, cozy, and a home away from home! The waterfront access is calming and soothing. You are close to wonderful restaurants, shopping etc. For an interesting and informative day trip try the River Quest Cruise that is literally next door. We enjoyed seafood and veal at Pappa Z's and prime rib at Scotch Plains Tavern ..both about 15 mins away and totally worth the trip. We are looking forward to a return stay in the the Fall.

A Little Gem
This little gem of a cottage has been lovingly, thoughtfully and creatively designed with quality furnishings, both visually and for use of space. It was delightful to be able to bring our meals to the waterfront, being protected from the sun if we wished or even bring chairs right out to water's edge on the docks. There is an inviting setting with adirondack chairs around a firepit that would be fun on a chilly evening. Spending the day watching turtles, water fowl, herons and the occasional small plane landing into the tiny airstrip across the river was a peaceful pasttime. Surrounding towns like Essex and Chester provide fun shopping and dining opportunities.

Exceeded expectations
This is a little Gem. We came here for an anniversary getaway and we were so impressed when we got here. Things were even better than described from the beautiful fire pit on the waters edge to clean and modern accommodations.. We loved having wine and cheese by the fire as we watched planes taking off and landing from the small hangar across the river. Excelllent hosts as well!

Great little place on the water!
Loved this little house! Very cozy, in a fun spot right on the water. Small airfield across the river so you can sometimes catch some very small recreational aircraft taking off across the river which is really cool to watch. We went to hang out and cook -- and the kitchen is really lovely for how small the place is. If you want to do some intense cooking (we were here during the pandemic so eating out wasn't an option) you may want to bring some cooking utensils and baking sheets. Tons of pots and pans there however! The most fantastic part was I got home and realized we had left something with huge sentimental value at the location. The owners packed it up and shipped it quickly and turned down our offer to pay for shipping. Couldn't ask for better service!

Beautiful escape
Where do I start? This little house is a gem. I don't even want to write this review because I want to keep this for the gem hidden ... a beautiful little paradise. Stayed Thursday to Sunday, a surprise birthday gift to my partner; and it was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. The little blue house was adorable, the views of the Connecticut River were breathtaking, the place was so clean and organized. The decor made it feel like a beach bungalow, it didn't feel like we were in Connecticut anymore. Saturday morning was spent sitting on the sofa watching planes take off from the runway across the river. We had music playing so we didn't even hear the engines of the planes, it was so peaceful and quiet; such an unforgettable experience. I hope whoever stays here feel the respect and love that is put into this place; when we left we wanted to make sure we left it as homely and welcoming as it was left for us. The house was so meticulous we didn't want to leave anything out of place it felt like another home. I am so excited to return to this little paradise escape.
