I loved our stay here. I loved the old style of the house. Our room was roomy, comfortable but simple. We were right next to Daereungwon - actually we could see it on our porch, just over the fence. Walking distance to pretty much all of the historical sites. Although make sure you eat early as we found a lot of the restaurants around the area closed at 6 pm. We had a cute little dining room where we all perched on a bench next to a huge window where we can take in the view of our gorgeous "home". Our host cut up fresh fruit and put out a simple yet satisfying breakfast. Cet hôtel est constitué de plusieurs petits bâtiments reproduisant le style coréen. Les futons ne sont donc pas sur des tatamis comme au Japon donc c’est quand même assez dur... Les chambres ne sont pas très grandes et la salle de bain est minuscule mais bon, c’est le style. Le petit déjeuner buffet est assez rudimentaire mais frais. Je ne sais pas comment on fait quand il pleut car on mange dehors... The owners are very nice and speak good English. I got there really early in the morning to explore and was able to get into my room right away. The location is great, it’s right next to the burial mounds and easily walking distance to many of the main historic sights as well as a whole street of restaurants. Parking would probably be an issue, I didn’t drive but there didn’t seem to be much around. The room was clean and well cared for with an attached bathroom. The WiFi was solid too. You can see the tombs from the yard. But the sleeping situation was not good. The mattress was so thin it felt like you were sleeping on the floor and the pillows was small and filled with rice(?). I’ve stayed at more traditional places before but this mattress was by far the thinnest. We walked everywhere, and it was a fantastic base from which to see the tombs and parks! There is a ton to see and do here, and there are dozens of restaurants and cafes on the same street as this Hanok. The owner speaks completely fluent english, and the breakfast of fresh fruit, eggs, toast and coffee was perfect. The courtyard was a wonderful place to sit snd enjoy the sights too. I would absolutely recommend this hotel, for its ideal location, beautiful buildings, and friendly owners.
