Royal International Hotel
5/5 Excellent
"The property is beautiful. Well decorated clean. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The keycard entry to the room controlling the lights and AC was a great addition, and a good way to save energy. The included breakfast was delicious and there were many different food options offered. The ability to exchange money at the hotel instead of having to go to a bank was also a nice touch. My only negative observation is the breakfast time. Breakfast is served between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., but the food is replenished only until 9:15 a.m. If you come down for breakfast later than 9:30 a.m., there will not be much left to eat. I understand that this is a way to save money from having to waste food, but it leaves some guests to go somewhere else for breakfast. My suggestion would be to have the breakfast time from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30. That way when the food is not replenished after 9:15 a.m., guests will know that they have to get there by then to have more options for food. The other observation is that most of the staff does not speak English. Guyana is primarily an English speaking country, so the language barrier presents an issue. The addition of a English speaking employee at the front desk when you check in helps. These issues can be overcome with English lessons for the staff. All and all, it was a great experience and I will stay there again when I visit Guyana in the future!!!"
