The steps were a challenge, I consider myself quite fit but 74steps to climb with luggage not easy, added to which my husband scraped his car on the hand rail while trying to park on the tricky slope. "What a gem The Laurels is. We enjoyed a long weekend at the cottage and had everything we needed. Lovely welcome package to arrive to after a long drive and lots of information about what to visit in the area. Beds were very comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Bed was not king size as advertised and pillows need renewing as seemed hard and worn out....maybe the addition of a pillow menu might be an added benifit. Lodge was of exceptional size and amenity. Make sure you find the walled garden....tranquil and beautiful. Will be recommending to family and friends. "
