This unique and eclectic cottage is comprised of two separate buildings that are connected by this lovely open-air atrium with a hot tub. It's basically a great room with a perfect view of the stars. The cozy living room and kitchen are in one building. Walk through the enclosed patio to reach the bedrooms and bathroom. The living room includes an adorable wood stove that makes for the perfect cozy evening. The compact kitchen includes everything you need for preparing fabulous meals to accompany the day's wine discoveries. The eat-in dining area is part of the kitchen, and has a view out to the open-air patio. Lots of light and windows make all the spaces at Vineyard Cottage extra appealing. The private front patio has great outdoor furniture for relaxing. THINGS TO KNOW \-Please be aware that the Russian River area has many narrow, windy roads, and that many homes are on hills and some have many stairs. If either of these factors could be an issue for you, please discuss your concerns with us before booking a home. \-Docks, river access, and watercraft (if applicable) are seasonal. Please contact us for details on availability. This home does not have AC. \-Maximum occupancy is six guests. There are a lot of doors for enjoying fresh air and quiet area away from the main road. The bathroom is connected directly to both bedrooms with two doors, which can be awkward if people in your party are fussy. The layout was a bit hard to discern until we arrived, the two queen beds are in one structure with the bathroom, it would be close quarters for two adult couples but was great for us as just one couple, would be great for two separate individuals or a couple with kids. A couple reviews mentioned a smell in the living room, there was a bit of a stale odor but it wasn't bad with windows open, which feels good in this region anyways. Workers were driving up and down the road with tractors and in the vineyard there were harvesters with spotlights so it was very busy. The house is cute, secluded and private. A little musty smell in the first section of house. I liked the brown tiles and wood burning stove. (Wish we were staying longer to use it) The star of this property for me was the hot tub of course. I absolutely love how it is tucked between the two parts of the house, very private. The bedroom/bathroom area was pretty cold, but we used a heater and both comforters and slept fine. I appreciate all the towels, both bathroom towels and beach towels. The kitchen was well stocked with item needed for preparing meals. The only thing I would suggest is better internet connection and maybe an Apple TV so that people can connect their own devices to be able to watch tv if they want to. Everything in the home was very clean. The setup of the house is odd, with the bedrooms and bath in a separate space from the living room and kitchen, all connected by the hot tub courtyard. Just quirky. We were very happy with this rental. Comfortable beds and a lot of charm. The only things that was a little odd is that you have to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the kitchen/ living room are. Hot tub was a bit noisy through the night and was not hot, but we really liked the home and would definitely stay here again.
