Perfect place to stay! No frills but had everything we needed. Rooms are comfortable and the shared kitchen space is great to cook dinner or make coffee. Host that greeted us was helpful and kind! We had a beautiful view of the mountains and watched the northern lights for over an hour right outside the hotel! Many wonderful memories, would definitely stay here again.

Location is close to the kirkjufell, you can see it if you book the Mountain View. Only thing I don’t like is the shower, even though there is a curtain, water still hit the door and you can see the inside door need replacement soon.

A great location looking out at kirkjufell. The room was clean, and the shared kitchen was great for sitting and relaxing with the view. There were plenty of places to walk to in town as well. We had a great time, would stay here again.

Stodt Hotel is convenient and clean. The first floor suite I was in was noisy from upstairs rooms and the hall. The linens were very rough. For cooking there was an induction stove with 2 burners so cooking is a bit limited. There was plenty of space.

Stayed late May during unusually great sunny weather and this location allowed us the easy opportunity to take full advantage of the extra daylight knowing we didn't have to drive a lost distance a day of exploring. The apartment had everything we needed, had comfortable beds and a great view. Wouldn't hesitate using this location again.

The property is beside the sea, with Mount Kirkjufell as the background. We caught one of the best sunsets of the trip there. 5 minutes drive to the Viewpoint of Mount Kirkjufell Waterfall. The grocery store in the town does not have many varieties of supplies and closes too early.

We had a lovely stay at Stöð Guesthouse & Apartments in Grundarfjörður. The place was very clean, quiet, and felt cozy and well looked after. The best part was our room’s view of Kirkjufell—waking up to that scenery was unreal. Having access to a well-equipped kitchen was also super convenient after long days exploring Snæfellsnes.

No reception so needed to call for check in. He was there in 2 minutes. Great common space with coffee grounds ready for a coffee pot in the morning, Swiss Miss for the kiddos. Room was big, clean, great showers, and awesome for a family of 4! (We had a family room). 2 bunk beds and two twins pushed together for a king.

Calm and beautiful

The aera was very calm, and the view was beautiful. Right next to the guesthouse was an amazing restaurant. This room had the best black-out curtains for blocking out the continuous summer light. We were also reccomended a very cozy cafe as well.

The room was comfortable, clean and the property has amazing views. We had our own bathroom, which is rare with these budget hostels in Iceland. So that was a big plus. HOWEVER, our twin beds were pushed together, with shared bed-sheets, so we didn't have the option to separate the beds. The staff never responded to any of our messages (asking for another set of bed-sheets). The kitchen had a coffee machine, but no coffee, which was a surprise (all other hostels had some basic tea and coffee available).
