Yosemite National Park Located just 33 miles from our house is Yosemite National Park . It is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Yosemite is best known for its waterfalls, rivers, towering granite monoliths, deep valleys and ancient giant sequoias a vast wilderness area, and much more within its nearly 1,200 square miles of parkland for you to explore.
Groveland Groveland is a quaint, historic town that played key roles in the California Gold Rush and in the history of Yosemite. It is a gateway to the Stanislaus National Forest and is known for the historic Iron Door Saloon. This town is part of the Mark Twain Bret Harte Trail. A treasure of natural wonders and lively gold rush history. Most of the Grovland action is on
Stroll down Main Street One of the most notable businesses downtown is the Iron Door Saloon. Founded in 1852, this is the longest continually operating saloon in all of California. Step up to the bar, which is the original from when it first opened, and order one of their signature drinks. You'll quickly be transported back through time to the Old West.
You’ll find good food, drinks and live music at the Groveland Hotel and the Hotel Charlotte. For coffee and nature lovers the best spot is Mountain Sage further down the Hwy 120.
Just west of Groveland on Highway 120, Around the Horn Brewing Company is a fun-spirited micro brewery where there's something for everyone, including those who don't particularly care for beer. Their beers are always changing, so there's no getting bored there. Groveland Museum Not only was Groveland a key town during the Gold Rush, it was also the base of operations when the O'Shaughnessy Dam was being constructed to form Hetch Hetchy Reservoir that would provide San Francisco with a stable water source. The Groveland Yosemite Gateway Museum located next to the local library was founded to keep the many stories of the community (natural and cultural) alive, and share them to the many visitors who come through the area. Jump of a Rock Rainbow pool a secret local spot is located nearby off the Hwy 120. You can relax on a warm rock or swim in the pool while watching people jump into the waterfall pool .
Hike the many trails
Groveland is the Gateway to Yosemite and is surrounded by Stanislaus National Forest, as such no trip here would be complete without exploring at least a few of the many hiking trails. Hiking is the #1 visitor activity in Tuolumne County after all. There are many trails to choose with a great selection of difficulties and terrains, such as the Carlon Falls Trail and Wapama Falls Trail at Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. You can choose to explore yourself, but a great option is to take a guided hike to find the true hidden gems of the area.
Embark on a White Water Adventure
World-famous whitewater rafting offers everything from float boats to Class 5 runs on the Tuolumne and Stanislaus Rivers. The Wild and Scenic Tuolumne, named #1 rafting river by the San Francisco Chronicle, is California’s premier wilderness whitewater.
Bike in the Woods
Tuolumne County offers up some of the most fun on two wheels around. Road and mountain biking is evolving fast in Tuolumne County, and whether you’re just starting out or are a seasoned veteran of the cycling world, there’s a trail with your name on it. The Ferretti Road Non-Motorized Trail Network just outside of Groveland includes 1.3 miles of bike-only trail that can riden in any direction and features long drops, log ride, jumps, berms, and rollers. After all that action you’ll be ready to relax
Melt Away in Relaxation
The brand new indoor/outdoor spa at Rush Creek Lodge at Yosemite is filled with extraordinary elements inspired by the natural beauty and power of Yosemite. Imagination has taken form with Warm Waterfall Coves, Aromatherapy Steam Room, and Himalayan Salt Sauna leading to a Cool Mist Room and an innovative Sensory Room that will genuinely transform you.
Additional information Cleaning Fee is $200 for the entire stay. This goes directly to the cleaning service.
Surrounding area Visit Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. The reservoir inside of Yosemite is accessible without a reservation! Enjoy spectacular scenery while hiking around the reservoir that is the water source for much of San Francisco.
Rent a boat, swim, fish or hike at Lake Don Pedro, one of California’s stunning massive reservoirs. Now dog-friendly.
Visit Jamestown where several of the town’s buildings that date back to the 1870s and 1880s are occupied by quaint historic inns, restaurants, shops, brewery and wine tasting room. See the historic “movie star locomotive,” the Sierra No. 3®, take a ride on famous Sierra No. 28 and go on a tour of one of the few remaining working railroad roundhouses in America at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.
Step back into California’s Gold Rush history in Columbia State Historic Park where you can stroll along wooden sidewalks, ride an authentic stagecoach (your dog can too!), pan for gold and chat with knowledgeable and friendly townspeople dressed in period attire.

Megan was a great host! She was super helpful in providing information for check in and responsive while we were there. The house had everything we needed. Especially liked all of the kid toys. Downstairs got real cold at night but we had plenty of blankets. Overall great stay. Would go again!

We had kids from 6 to 15 in our group, and they all had a blast. So many toys and things to do on the property, tons of games, and the wrap around porches were great for tag. Very well stocked and maintained, this house was perfect for our group.

A lovely cabin in a nice neighborhood. The kids enjoyed the basketball hoop while adults enjoyed the patio. We appreciated the location as it is nearby a local lake, super market, ice-cream shop, etc and it is not that far of a drive to get into Yosemite National Park — which is amazing!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The home was well appointed with everything we needed. All we brought was our food and clothing. The surrounding community (HOA) had a great swimming lake, snack bar (ideal for teenagers), lake boat rides, fun fishing, a pool and of course Yosemite National Park was only 1 1/2 hours away. The town of Groveland is a cute as can be and the nearby grocery store was convenient. My group of 10 definitely wants to return. Thank you Megan. This was a great stay!

Well, the property is fine, but I had to pay an extra $44 to enter for each car, I think it would be a good thing if they mentioned it before booking,Besides, you must clean, wash and take out the trash when you are supposed to go on vacation.I definitely don't recommend it.

My family and I wanted a getaway from school and work. We decided on a return to nature. I'm glad we found Megan's property. Such a beautiful place! The house was clean, the carpet looked new, and the place was stocked with everything we needed (plus more!). We were pleasantly surprised with the extra amenities like the laundry detergent and hand towels in the kitchen and bathrooms. The kids had a lot to do. We had some fun family tournaments with the pool table and basketball hoop. Loved the hikes around the lake and relaxing at park by the marny. Lastly, Megan was such a pleasure to work with. She made sure that we were comfortable throughout our entire stay. We'll definitely be back (for a longer stay).

House had everything we needed and close to the lake and local supermarket and restaurants. Owner was very helpful and responsive. Queuing up to enter the neighborhood was annoying. Also having to park on the street at the weekend down by the lake. We went to Hetch Hetchy reservoir although the hike was too long for the baby and 3 year old. We all enjoyed Rainbow Pool and Columbia State Park. A few of our family members went to Yosemite Valley and enjoyed the spectacular views. Overall it was a great vacation and everyone was comfortable in this beautiful home. Thank you for allowing us to stay and thanks for the complimentary wine. I would suggest giving your guests at least two door keys instead of the one.

Our family of 9 (ages 2-70) spent 5 nights here. Megan was very responsive to the few issues we had. The house was spacious enough for all of us. The master bedroom large closet worked well for having the pack-n-play setup in a very quiet location. We enjoyed the pool table. It was nice to have supplies such as ziploc bags and aluminum foil. The grocery store is close by and well stocked. The lake was WONDERFUL... It was a hot week so we went twice a day. The older kids enjoyed the platform for jumping off. The 2 year old found the warmer water and lack of waves wonderful for getting comfortable with the water. There were plenty of beach towels at the house and sand toys as well. We bought a couple of rafts/floats from the Marina store. They would have been cheaper from Target so get them there beforehand. We took the free water taxi for fun to see the rest of the lake. We used the fishing pier for fishing, a few went horseback riding and we used the golf course as well. The pool is not open for guests until noon and was quite crowded, so we only went there once. We would consider going here again.

We have been renting in PML for 20+ years, and this home is truly one of the best we’ve stayed in. The owner, Megan, is the most gracious host I’ve ever dealt with. She really cares that you enjoy your stay, and goes above and beyond!
Our family of 9, including two little ones had everything needed and more. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for larger families. You can tell there’s been a lot of thought put in to make it feel like home.
There were deer roaming, just off the back deck which the kids loved! We had the best time, and can’t wait to return. Thank you for sharing your home, Megan!

We had a nice stay with great weather. The house was close to the marina and an easy drive to the other amenities at the property. For Memorial Day weekend we were expecting more crowds but it wasn’t too bad on the lake and we enjoyed the trip! The house was very comfortable and met our needs perfectly!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is large, which is what we needed for my wife and me, a daughter and her husband and two children (ages 3 and 6), and another grown daughter. It's also easy to find, straight down the street from the community entrance, about halfway to the lake. The place was extremely well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, mugs, blender, toaster--and on and on. Lots of sheets and towels and bed coverings too. The play area in the back--a jungle-gym, two slides, a swing set--as well as the pool table, foosball game, child's train set, and books galore in the downstairs room of the house--made for a fantastic stay for our grandkids. Also, the owner, Megan, was easy to get ahold of when we had questions and very responsive. The only drawbacks that might make a difference for some people is that the lights in the overhead fans in the living and dining rooms were too dim, and the light bulbs in places throughout the house needed replacing--if only so the same type of bulb was in multi-bulb fixtures, like in the bathrooms. Also, the carpeting in the upstairs hallway and bedrooms was quite worn, and the place was not as clean as we would have wanted. (Some dishes in the cupboards needed re-washing.) Still, we're giving this place 5-stars. The positive features far outweighed the not-so-positive. We had a great time, especially given the size and age ranges of our group (3 years to 72 years!)
