Dear traveler, If you encounter an issue during your stay, please share what that issue is so that the situation can be remedied. Please don't do what Lindsay did, which is informing me of an issue encountered post check out with 2-day delay. The reason is, a problems kept secret and unaddressed inconvenience not just you, but also hosts and fellow travelers who check in after you depart. Kindly please help yourself, hosts and fellow travelers by promptly reporting what needs attention. Safe travels.

I've had software developers rent and work from the chalet with video meetings, and all the bandwidth consuming activities that go into their workday + streaming end of day without a problem. If you want to rest from information streams like Ann, I think you might also find internet abstinence beneficial. Please tie down the garbage can lid with bungee cord, as I actually do ask to, else front yard will be covered with garbage scattered by wildlife. Enjoy your safe travels!

Dear travelers, When you make a reservation on any vacation rental site in the United States you must read and acknowledge House Rules else you cannot make a reservation. I know that as I rent on 4 different vacation rental websites for the last 6 years and I communicate with vacation rent professionals. On some travel sites House Rules are called Rental Agreements, on others, Rental Policies, but they all have the same purpose- they are pieces of important information often including safety information you must read and acknowledge in order to make a booking. If you ignore to read those please do NOT make a reservation at the chalet. $42 gate fee collected by the gated community where the chalet is located is not a secret - it is a House Rule listed for all travelers to agree to before making a reservation. Kindly please do not ignore the house rules when you make a reservation. Instead please be sure to read those rules as they are important for your safety and for the safety of others. By ignoring the rules you endanger yourself and others. From experience I know that most travelers spend time on reading property reviews. I welcome you to spend less than a minute to read the house rules instead of ignoring them and then blaming anyone but yourself for ignoring the house rules which you are obligated to read. With time, I also notice a trend where more and more travelers are ignoring those rules. A decade ago it was a real chore to rent a house in Pine Mountain Lake as you had to know someone who'd point you to where you find rentals. You had to write deposit checks and get checks to go to bank to deposit. You had to write all names, ages, license plate numbers and other excessive info on forms you had to mail. You had to find some rental office in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere. You had to read pages and pages. You had to sign and initial. if you forgot to sign or initial once your rental stay was rejected. Communication was by visiting an office when it's open. Now all that is simplified to reading house rules and clicking "Submit". And now some arrive at a conclusion that a 2 step process is too many steps. It takes more time to admit in writing that you are ignoring house rules (as you can see above) than to actually read them. By the way: Did I mention everyone expects you to read house rules? :) I hope I did. I wish joyful voyages to all of you fellow travelers empowered by the knowledge of some simple house rules.

Dear traveler, You cannot make a vacation rental reservation without acknowledging either Rental Agreement, Rent Policies or Rental Agreement as it is a required step for making a booking. Kindly please read House Rules BEFORE making a reservation, as reading them is required for booking. If you ignore House Rules, find a property with a host who welcomes that. I don't welcome anyone who ignores House Rules as some of those rules are safety rules.

Thank you for your kind words, Terra. Just to clarify WiFi does allow streaming. We've also have had 4 Silicon Valley IT professionals work simultaneously using it- and they did not complain. It is however not that type of fast internet (in the middle of the woods :) which would allow anything, and everything, and all that lightning fast. Thus no multi-gigabyte torrent downloads please, no crypto mining, and no it is not the set up for high frequency trading ,or watching Netflix 24/7. In other words: it's way slower than you'd find on Wall Street in New York City and DOES have limits :) yet you can watch an episode or 2 but not use the WiFi in "internet cafe" mode by 2 cars of people :)
