Nestled on the banks of the Shell Rock River, within acres of pictures land, is Aqua Log Cabin Retreat, a countryside hideaway, this dwelling is the perfect base for a large gathering with family and friends. Inside, the property is filled with character. The central log staircase greets you at the front door. Beyond this relax in the large living room with a vaulted ceiling overlooking the river. Rest on one of the large sofas and enjoy the river view. The open plan leads to a large dining room and onto the kitchen area. There is a large dining room table and also a raised seated area in the kitchen with bar stools. French doors from the dining room lead out onto a patio deck. The kitchen is filled with the necessities needed to cook up a meal. There is also a coffee machine to quench your caffeine cravings over a morning catch-up at the spacious dining table while enjoying the river view. There is also a washing machine and dryer facilities. Also, downstairs is a half bathroom with a unique Thomas Crapper sink and overhead toilet. Beyond this is a large master bedroom with built-in closets a roomy shower an en-suite roomy shower and bath. The beautiful carpeted staircase with carpet rods leads you up to marvelous bedrooms that lead you across the property in separate sections. Sit over the Shell Rock River on a large outdoor deck. Anchor your boat up to the dock during your stay. Close by is a nine-hole golf course and a slipway to put your boat in. Go fishing on the Shellrock River only a few steps away from the house or tour the Waterloo John Deere Factory (one hour away), you can also shop the Mall of America (two and a half hours away), or visit the setting of where world-famous hymn “Little Brown Church in the Dale” was penned (half-hour), Hunt for fossils at the Rockford Prairie Park (15 minutes’ drive). When we booked the property there were very few pictures posted, but we ended up pleasantly surprised. (More pictures have since been added and give a good feel of the house!). The beds were very comfortable and the towels fluffy soft. We had very few suggestions for improvement; they had thought of almost everything! We stayed in the main part of the house, with access to four bedrooms. There is a large additional section which will open soon. We kept commenting that this would be a great location for an extended family gathering or celebration. The views were gorgeous, especially the sunsets in the evening and the fog on the river in the morning. We had a wonderful time relaxing on the patio, playing games, fishing, and kayaking from the beach. The river was shallow near the home, which was perfect for our children to kayak. This cabin was a great alternative and more than met our expectations. The house was large enough to comfortably fit our whole family and the outside area overlooking the river was ideal. Kitchen was well supplied to cook. Plenty of places to be in or out of the sun, play some games and enjoy each other’s company. There is a small town nearby where we picked up some groceries, visited a pottery shop, played pickle ball, and golfed on a small but nicely kept 9 hole course. The river is shallow but there was a variety of fish caught and we swam at the sand bar just a little bit away from the house. The river is shallow, so swimming right in front of the cabin was not a choice but the sand bar picture in the listing was fun. Great communication with owner and obviously a lot of care put into this beautiful cabin. Great vacation. We enjoyed fishing (caught 5 different kinds of fish, and some big ones!!), cooking, chilling in the house, and relaxing in the hot tub. You can log into subscription services on the TVs, and the kitchen had all we needed. The river is beautiful!! Fair warning: the beach is rocks and mud and the water smells a little fishy. It worked for us, and the boys had so much fun, but if you're expecting white sand, you might be disappointed. There's a nearby park where you can dig for fossils, and I recommend the funnel cake fries at TJs Bar. Very beautiful home, great views of nature. Overall it's a great place to get away and relax!! ##### Emily L. We enjoyed the peace and quiet as we drank our coffee every morning while looking at the river. Plenty of room for the 6 adults that we had for our trip. Home is beautiful! Spent the week and enjoyed using the grill and relaxing. Appreciate that bed linens and towels are provided. The West Forty Market in Greene is perfect to grab the groceries and supplies you need and the Coffee Baa is an excellent choice for drinks, pastries, and lunch. It would be helpful if there was a checklist of things that should be done before leaving. We weren't sure where to put trash or if we needed to remove bedding. Family room is large and a bigger tv would be helpful in there. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back!! ##### Brenda T.
