Freshly Renovated & Lovely with Gardens in Sunny Central Marin Blue Sky Cottage is one-of-a-kind. It is a lovely, serene cottage on a magical property in a prime location. The cottage is large at 800 SF, and is freshly renovated head-to-toe. It has a new kitchen, large new bath and much more. Appliances, fixtures, linens, furnishings, cookware etc. are all top quality. The great room, with peaked ceilings, windows all around and skylights, is airy and filled with light. It is serene with soft blue walls and yummy colors, and opens onto a large deck. It has Roku TV with hundreds of channels for streaming, plus books and games. The cottage has its own dedicated network, and Wi-Fi speed is lightning-fast, 782 Mbps, sufficient for high-quality streaming on many devices at once. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality cookware and dishes and has everything you need to cook wonderful meals. Morning coffee is covered with a full coffee station, with Keurig, French press, electric kettle and all the fixings. A mini-split heating and AC system ensure your year-round comfort. The bathroom is newly renovated and just gorgeous, with a double-vanity and a tub enclosure lined with deep blue tile. The bedroom boasts a beautiful queen-sized solid acacia bed with premium Sealy Posturepedic mattress. It has large windows and lovely light, with shades. There is a very comfortable American Leather queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Linens and pillows are good quality throughout. We take sleep quality seriously here! Designed by the owner, an artist, the cottage sings with color - from the sky blue exterior to the sunshine yellow front door to the lively kitchen tiles. Overall the cottage is fresh, chic, peaceful with a cheerful vibe. The cottage is nestled in a very private 2-acre gated property filled with gardens, woodlands and redwood groves - a magical oasis! Most guests are quite astonished when they arrive at this property. The property features an historic Victorian main house (where the hosts live) and two rental cottages, grouped around a common lawn and gardens. The lawn is available for all to use - perfect for picnics, little ones or play with your puppy. Behind the house and cottages are wild woodlands, and wildlife spottings are common: red-tailed hawks, owls, foxes, raccoons, hummingbirds and deer all make the rounds here. The property is in a prime location, central to everything - the perfect base for exploring the Bay Area. It is in sunny Central Marin, clear of the fog belts of Mill Valley or Sausalito. San Francisco is 30 min to the south, wine country is 45 min to the north, and all of beautiful Marin surrounds you. Marin is world-famous for it's abundance of hiking, mountain biking and other outdoorsy fun, not to mention great food and shops. The property has multiple great hikes and bike paths nearby and is easy walking distance to brunch, dinner or deli in sweet downtown Kentfield. The owners live on the property, in the main house, and are usually available to help with anything you need. PET POLICY We love dogs and they are very welcome at this pet-friendly property! Here are the rules: \- Nonrefundable pet fee of $50/pet. \- 1 dog weighing 50 lb or less and no younger than 1 year allowed \- Dog may not be left alone in the cottage if it has any behavior issues like chewing, excessive barking, etc. \- Please don’t leave your dog alone in the unit for more than 4 hours. Petsitting easily available through Rover. \- Dog must always be supervised when out on the property, and cleaned up after scrupulously, \- Dog must be current on all flea and tick treatments ROSIE: The property comes with an adorable resident mini-bernadoodle named Rosie. We allow her to roam our fenced property and play on the lawn. She is entirely friendly and loves people and other dogs! She fancies herself a guard dog so she sometimes barks at new people (sorry!), but she warms up quickly. The only thing that was tricky was having to back up from the parking space at a strange angle to wait for the automatic gate to open. Other than that it was clean, lovely and private. Great deck looks out over the woods (and the deer if you are lucky to see them). Heat pump provided great heating and cooling on demand. Comfortable bed. This guest house is just to the right when you enter the property and it’s lovely. It was clean and comfortable. The only issue was a drip in the bathroom ceiling. It was raining the entire time we were there. But the bed was comfortable, the hosts were responsive, and it was perfect for what we needed, which was to be close to the College of Marin. ##### Sarah B. The cottage itself feels private and the balcony is large and looks upon the woods. You’ll see stars at night. The fenced yard we shared with a few others was great for our dog who got along well with Rosie the resident dog. The bed was great for getting rest and we did make quite a bit of use of the kitchen. The only thing to be aware of is some of the fittings especially in the kitchen are quite old and in need of renovation. ##### abhay s. For our stay it was very functional. The kitchen is equipped with full sized appliances and a dishwasher. There is a small laundry room in the cottage with full-sized washer and dryer, great for stays over a few days. The bedroom has a comfortable bed and lovely views out to the trees. The bathroom was small with a tiny shower however. The living room nicely sized with a door to the deck. We felt like we were in a lovely treehouse. The parking is quite tight, so one has to be extra careful to stay in their assigned spot. Our hosts were very responsive to any questions. My wife gave it a "B" Pretty good property but it needs a little work here and there. Living room, kitchen and bedroom were good. The bathroom needs a little work. The shower was not the best. Linens provided were of top-notch quality. Holes in the walls need patching and painting. Overall it served our needs and we really have no major complaints. Would I rent again? Probably but the thing holding me back from saying yes is that there is waaaay too much traffic in the area. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. is ridiculous.
