"Cleanliness of my room was a turnoff. The tile floors in the entry, kitchen and bathroom were sticky. The sofa had scratch marks that appeared to be pet damage. The remote battery cover was missing and replaced with black electrical tape. It looked like my room had been through the wringer and rather than properly repair or replace, bandaid fixes were implemented. I was not told pets were allowed to stay previously in the room I was assigned. I’m allergic to dogs and woke up with severe allergies. Upon further inspection, there was pet hair stuck in large quantities around the base of the bed. "

"We celebrated my daughter's upcoming wedding with a shower at the Meritage for a girls weekend stay. We had stayed here three other times but didn't have any issues when reserving directly with the property. This time, we reserved through Expedia and was satisfied with the price of the room through this platform; however, was misled on price expectation. According to Expedia's website, it stated total price I'd be paying, but when I checked in, the front desk charged me over almost $200 more for one night because there were other fees including parking (which we never had to pay for in the past), resort fees, and other taxes. This was not a positive experience and started our vacation with a negative feeling. Wish this was disclosed on Expedia's website. Travelers beware. We did enjoy our room and the property itself."

"Beautifully updated & clean room & property; everything new. Nice landscaping, free slow level 2 car chargers, lovely lobby / breakfast area, nice amenities like a small 24-hour gym, mildly heated outdoor pool w/ lounge chairs & pool towels (no natural shade until evening but a handful of tables w/umbrellas), fire pit, & best free hotel breakfast I’ve had. The pool & basketball court r open until 10pm. Our double queen suite (1 bedroom) was nicely stocked with all the basic washable equipment you’d need to do some light cooking or reheating of food, including a dishwasher and provided dishwasher detergent! Even a brand new sponge and dish soap. The beds were medium firm. We’re used to soft beds but didn’t notice the firmness too much until I woke with a slightly numb shoulder from side sleeping. Got used to the firmness by the second night with no complaint. Our room was on the road side of the building rather than the field side, but the infrequent road noise wasn’t very noticeable and my toddler and kindergartener slept through the night with no problem. We did not hear any neighbors even though there were rooms on both sides and above and below us. Like most 3-star and lower hotels these days, housekeeping doesn’t come daily. But I was surprised that even when a request was put in at 8am, I was told it was a “late” request and they might not be able to accommodate that day. Fortunately they did, as I really needed it! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!"
