Great location, very central.

Lovely hotel, lovely staff. Great they had a rooftop terrace and surprised that the drinks prices were also reasonable there. Brilliant central location. Our room was lovely. Very comfortable bed. View awful as looking onto an inside wall where all the noisy air con units were but didn't really spoil our stay. Appreciated the complimentary mini bar.

Great location. Excellent staff

Pros: Location. Staff.
Cons: It needs some recycling options in the rooms. Nowhere to recycle paper, plastic, etc. Does not have any clear enviro policy.
Nice hotel. A bit old fashioned, but in a good way. Caters to an older demographic (I think). The free mini bar was a nice touch. Staff was very friendly.

Excellent stay in fantastic location in Glasgow!!

Posted 10-Jul-2017
Pros: Location, minibar
Location: Shopping, Cathedral, Tennant's brewery
Excellent location in the heart of Glasgow, close to shops, restaurants and walking distance to many of the sights. Parking is offsite but only a few blocks walk, very nice to have the minibar free of charge and the club room being stocked with light snacks

I stayed at the Carleton George on my way to and from NW Scotland. As I had to take a train to my final destination, the hotel was easily within walking distance to the station. But despite being so close to the station and city center, it was wonderfully quiet in my room. Black out curtains helped me adjust to jet lag and the long summer nights so I slept well. The front desk was always well staffed and they were very attentive. The restaurant on the 7th floor served a wonderful breakfast and there were great views on the city from there.

Prime location to city center

Great location, nice hotel, staff is very courteous and helpful. Room was very quiet. Beautiful rooftop restaurants with nice views. Basically in the city center, a block from Buchanan Street. Would definitely stay again.

Great location and good stuff is the only pro

Posted 29-Jun-2017
Not a fan one bit. First off, booked this location for the VIP perks and location. We had many options but went with this. The VIP bonus is a 20% coupon off your dinner, seriously?!? No thank you. Additionally, our bed was on the first floor looking out at the air conditioning vents, with zero natural lighting at any point, great... our 'King' bed was measured, this is NOT a King bed. The conforters and pillows were pretty bad as well. This is not a 4 star hotel in my opinion, it's a 3 star. Location is great and staff was very nice. Room was AWFUL!!!!!!!!

Pros: Generally comfortable
Cons: In warm summer weather room very stuffy. Practically nonexistent ventilation/air conditioning.
Location: Location excellent and central. Very easy for airport bus. Great shopping.
Decent hotel in great downtown location. Easy transportation links.

Lovely hotel great location

Had great time at this hotel. Just one little niggle. Room was close to air con units in the central area. Closing the window blocked the noise out but then no air in room so was a bit warm overnight. That said room was great. Staff excellent and had a great breakfast. Just off the main shoping street. Close to station, bars and everything you need. Would recommend and would stay again.

Pros: location, staff, rooms - all great!
We stayed for three nights, getting ready for our West Highland Way hike. Lovely hotel, especially loved the VIP room where we could go for continental breakfast, coffee & tea, free wine & beer in the afternoon! This hotel was in the center of downtown and close to shopping & lots of great restaurants.

Classic hotel in City Centre

Posted 07-Jun-2017
Pros: Excellent location, comfortable accomodations (suggest upgrade to get free mini-bar and executive lounge access).
Location: In City Centre on the edge of George St Square. Take a city bus tour from the square to get an overview of Glasgow and its main sights.
Glasgow has a different vibe than Edinburgh, but both cities are must-sees. Edinburgh has large sections of beautifully preserved neighborhoods, whereas Glasgow, with the demise of its large manufacturing sector has been able to erect many modern structures, drawing upon contemporary architecture.
