Pros: location and friendly staff
Location: carrick golf course and spa excellent and free courtesy bus
very friendly and helpful staff, spa first class , golf course in good condition considering recent rainfall,great locations nearby for eating out

Pros: the whole experience from arrival to check out.
Cons: hard to improve!
Location: beautiful location next to loch Lomond , shopping and leisure facilities at nearby Lomond shores. lots of walks in nearby national park.
the hotel, staff were excellent right from the concierge on greeting us and guiding us to our room and parking our car. restaurants were first rate and the breakfast could not be faulted. the facilities at this hotel are second to none.

Nice hotel near Loch Lomond

Location: Right on Loch Lomond but you'll need a car to visit nearby Balloch or anywhere else for that matter
Nice hotel with a couple of minor niggles albeit quickly resolved: -No instructions given on first / only visit to the pool other than '125' which when I asked apparently was the code to enter the changing room. Then found there was a pin pad on lockers with no instructions (mines turned out to be faulty in any event) - beds way too bouncy and no choice of pillows, the ones we had were way too soft - lamp missing from table on one side of bed - 2 very small bottles of water provided gratis - no view from room. All sounds very petty but at £500 for a couple for 2 nights with breakfast I'm looking at excellent not average.

Did not meet expectations

We arrived at 2.30 pm and were advised our room was not available until check in time of 3pm- perfectly understandable. However when we returned at 310pm we were told that the room would be about another 40-45 mins until it was ready. We were offered a complimentary drink. Got into room about 340pm. Ate dinner in the Boathouse restaurant which was disappointing, a little overpriced, had to return the meal as it was cold, paying for surroundings I expect? On checkout the next morning at 1045am, party in front of us were checking in , they were given their room straight away which made our experience the day before even more frustrating! This was a special occasion night away, we wanted it to be memorable and it was , unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.

Not the 5 stars you would expect

Fantastic setting on the shores of Loch Lomond but that is about as far as it goes I am afraid. We had a nice mea in the Cameron grill apart from not being told what type of cheese I was eating. Breakfast was very good but not a patch on a Gleneagles breakfast. Our room was clean but our friends had sticky bedside tables. We had hair clips on our carpet that were not ours. Our ground floor window did not have a working lock on it and our partners experience at the spa was dreadful. A good selection of Gin but no alternative on the tonic water available, and that does matter. I feel the hotel is in need of some upgrading and the staff more training. 4 star at best.

This is the second time we have stayed and noticed the same thing and think the hotel could do with a higher room maintenance program as doors and edges around the room need attention

Reality check in at Cameron house hotel

Upon arrival our room was not ready causing delay, we went to eat at the boat house restaurant, to kill time, to be greeted with half a dozen teenage girls falling over them self to flirt with the chefs, rather than serve customers. Dinner reservations were made 2.5 months in advance for the restaurant, only to be told there was no reservation, they had a table of 4 available, however would rather have it stay empty than allocate it to 2 people. And to top it off, bathroom towels were dirty upon entry to our room, big dirty foot prints on the towels. You guessed it, hotel management did not want to hear any of the problems.
