About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Trout Tales Lodge, Dearborn River front, blue ribbon fishing. Cascade, Craig MT.

Trout Tales Fishing Lodge is a mountain paradise where blue ribbon fishing is just out your front door. Private setting. Winding canyons with many fishing and swimming holes. The Missouri River is downstream a few yards. Guided fishing trips and fishing license are available in Cascade along with a grocery store. Boat access is just across the Missouri River an easy pick-up for your fishing guide.
The cabin has a comfy living room with a 50" tv., Starlink internet with Roku cable tv. and cell phone booster.
The stainless steel kitchen is complete with refrigerator, propane range, portable dishwasher, microwave and ice-maker. Out side BBQ on the deck. The bath has a glass shower and on demand water-heater with a new energy efficient washer/dryer. It'll clean you up after a long day.
The open sleeping loft has two separate areas. #1 has a queen bed. #2 a double with a twin bed. The main floor has a double bed. Sleeps 4-5 guests. 4 will have their own bed.
With Eagle Rock behind the cabin you can watch brown and bald eagles soar and fish the river. Deer cruise on the hill side paths. There's plenty of room to roam around. A horseshoe pit by the fire pit. An old abandoned train track that runs through the canyon. It's a nice leisure walk with the rivers close by.
Trout Tales does run on an advanced solar system. This system is fully automatic and provides plenty of power to the cabin.
The cabin is located behind a locked gate on a private road with a steep hill. 4x4 or AWD is necessary to access the cabin at all times.

Perfect Setting!
The cabin is great, the setting is perfect to see wildlife and fish, and the location is private but not far from the Highway! We had an amazing experience at this cabin and the owner, Sue, is happy to help with anything you might need! Thank you again!

Fantastic Cabin With Great Fishing
This cabin absolutely lives up to its name. It has direct access to the Dearborn River with a fishing hole right by the property’s river bank. If you are a fishing enthusiast, read the fishing instructions in the cabin. They are very accurate and proved quite productive for me. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you need for a nice vacation. The sceneries are breath taking with eagles cruising high in the skies…a true paradise. The situation with AWD / 4x4 vehicle is not that bad. A basic vehicle with such capability will do it. Will definately return.

Cool Cabin at Dearborn & Missouri River Junction
Great “off the grid” Cabin to hangout at. Very comfortable, everything works well, solar powered with propane generator backup. One bath and one double downstairs and three more beds upstairs. Host is very accessible and the cabin is well stocked with all the little things you could want. The only issue is the access road, very steep and weathered hard. When she says “4 wheel drive is a necessity”… believe it! Enjoyed our stay there…

Great views
Excellent place to return to nature with the Dearborn river in Missouri close by. Access Road definitely needs good 4 x 4 vehicle. Outstanding views.

Wonderful cabin!
We truly enjoyed our stay at Trout Tales! The home is incredibly stocked with everything you’ll need. Communication with the owner was great. We saw lots of wildlife- bear, mule deer, bighorn sheep, eagles, osprey and snow pelicans! We rented a boat and fished the Missouri River; caught 6 big trout! My husband caught 2 nice trout behind the house in the swimming hole one morning. The Gates of the Mountains boat tour was very informative and beautiful! We also journeyed up to Glacier which is breathtaking. Renting side by sides in Pipestone was also lots of fun! The road coming into the cabin in pretty rough- definitely need AWD or 4x4 and PLENTY of ground clearance. Overall, this is a wonderful cabin in a beautiful location!

Father Sons Fishing Trip
This beautiful vacation home is absolutely beautiful and totally off the grid. Their property description is accurate except it says, 4x4 vehicle suggested. Not quite correct, 4x4 vehicle a necessity, and that’s part of the beauty of this place. Sue, the owner has provided all you’ll need for a totally relaxed stay, except for your food and drink of choice. And, BTW, their well water is better that any bottled or city water I’ve found. Wake up to the quiet of the valley, walk outside with your cup of coffee and see how many deer are walking around. We counted 8 one morning. Sitting on their deck, watching a dancing fire in their fire pit, playing a quick game of horse shoes, checking out the stars, solving all the worlds problems, enjoying each other company and bragging who caught the biggest fish the day is the perfect way to conclude your evening. The boys and I have already decided if we have another Montana guy fishing trip, this is where we’re gonna stay!

Heaven in Montana
I've stayed at quite a few Vrbo's and I'd have to say this property is the best yet. The communication from the property owner, the cleanliness of the property and the property had every little thing you can think of, but would never expect to get to make out visit absolutely perfect. The location was private and secluded and you definitely better take the 4x4 requirement seriously. It added to the experience in a wonderful way. Would come back in a heart beat.
