It was a beautiful property - cozy and warm in the snow for relaxing and special family time; and an amazing location to go exploring (snowshoeing around the property, snow tubing, ice skating, skiing, hiking all nearby). Mike and Diane were the kindest, most generous hosts, helping us out with recommendations in the local area, getting snow shoes for us and even putting up a Christmas tree ahead of our arrival. The hosts were also great! This home is very well appointed. We cooked several times, and I appreciated all the available cooking utensils. It was also a decent-sized kitchen, perfect for cooking while allowing the family to be together. The beds were comfortable, and we loved having the fire pit, and the weather was perfect for that. It wasn't quite cold enough for the wood-fired sauna, but that sounded lovely! We also had a wood fire in the fireplace, which was special. The only drawback (not the end of the world) was that there was a major fly problem inside. We would come back and find like 50 flies in the windows along with ladybugs. I am guessing that since it's such an old farmhouse (likely from the turn of the century) that there are gaps where bugs can get in. I also will say the bathroom shower and counter area is very small, so if this is something you need, just be aware. No fault of the owners, just an old home.
