We vacationed at the cottage for a week. It was lovely and cozy. The view is mesmerizing and it changes every day with the weather! It was very clean and well equipped with all we needed. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. It's a wonderful place to stay at and perfectly located. ##### Chantal G. There were so many things we enjoyed about this VRBO rental. The park-like setting of the house’s location made nature feel close. The house itself had a rustic feel that evoked the calm of a simpler time, made more apparent when we looked out the large picture windows that provided a view of fields leading down to the Annapolis Basin. The proximity to town and the highway allowed for easy access to cafes, eateries, the amazing Saturday Farmer’s Market, and other amenities. With so many well-thought out conveniences and a wonderful attention to color and aesthetics, it was clear the hosts were very mindful of the comforts of their guests. ##### Peter L. It was well stocked; original art adorned the walls; the bed was comfy; the view was outstanding; and Andi was very responsive, and gave us so many great suggestions for great bike rides and activities. We highly recommend Wildflower Cottage. ##### Mary Jo M. Everything that you need is provided - literally. The host has all information needed to tour the area at your fingertips, comfortable rooms - with the picture window overlooking the river a favourite. Hard to pry away from that view. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. ##### Valentine S. Stayed 7 nights in Sep 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Andrew B. 5 Jul 2016 #### Beautiful cottage Lovely place with lovely views of the Annapolis river. Two full bathrooms and two large bedrooms, great. We have stayed in may places in Europe and N America and this was the most well provisioned rental we have experienced. Even a selection of teas available! Close to many interesting historic and natural sites. I would highly recommend this to anyone. ##### Andrew B. Immaculately clean. The views and fall color were so great. Very comfortable and hosts were so accommodating. It was private even though the owners live nearby. We will visit again so we can see more wildlife and hike. Lovely for a retreat for renewal and rest. Great music selection! ##### M M. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Krista G. 5 Jul 2016 #### Peace + beauty=Home There are no words to describe the beauty and peace we found at the Wildflower Cottage. The description and pictures are exactly what we found when we arrived. Our family enjoyed every moment of our vacation there and Andi and Steven were incredible hosts. They provided us with several recommendations of where to visit and spent some time getting to know us. The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and more. On the day before we left, we saw beavers, a snowshoe hare, a deer which came to the big picture window and a pheasant. Such an incredible place and vacation! We would definitely return and are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to stay in Andi and Steven's home. Thank you again for opening your home to us! We miss it already! The fall colours were at their peak when our family of 3 recently stayed at wildflower cottage. After a long flight, arriving here was so soothing and sublime. The cottage, with its large picture windows displaying the beautiful meadows, matures trees, red barn and waterfront in panoramic view was out of a museum-quality painting. Hard to pull ourselves from away from this scene. The kitchen is large and definitely the best equipped of any vacation rental we've stayed at down to the stainless steel pots and pans, sharp knives and excellent coffee maker. There's a wonderfully cozy and spacious living room off the kitchen. The downstairs and upstairs bedrooms are thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. There is lots to do in Annapolis Royal and area, but we choose mainly to settle into our retreat and catch up on reading. Yet we did venture out each day and walked the town trails, had lunch or coffee at Bistro East, which we highly recommend, and explored the amazing historic gardens. We saw a good Celtic music band at the King's Theatre one evening and spent another day hiking in Keji park. The owners were delightful. We will definitely return. Many thanks. M&J ##### M F. ### 8/10 Good #### Sherry K. 28 Oct 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Cottage stay The cottage looks as shown in photos. The thing to remember it is a cottage. No dishwasher and rustic feel to kitchen. The cottage was clean. The furniture was comfortable and having Netflix for guests for the evening was great! The location worked well for us because we wanted to use it as home base and day trip it from there. We had already explored the other side of the province and Cape Breton on a previous trip. The owner was quick to respond to a question we had. She is a very thoughtful and organized host. There is spices, start up coffee, paper products, dish soap , condiments in fridge, house line phone with free North American phone calls, written instructions for using the cottage, written instructions for departure day, reading material, brochures for local attractions. The phone was great for us as we both have aged parents we need to check on at home. Thank you Andi for being a great host! Loved the artwork on the walls depicting local scenery. ##### Sherry K. Lamps in the cottage were lit (it was a gloomy, rain-soaked day) and there was a personalized welcome letter accompanying a helpful notebook of information about the locale. Wildflower Cottage's immaculate, airy space is beautifully appointed with cozy furnishings and colorful artwork. Beds are extremely comfortable, bathrooms are large with modern fixtures, and the well-equipped kitchen even includes pantry items such as tea, coffee and pasta. (An extra treat for us was being invited to pick ripe blueberries outside the cottage. What a nice addition to our breakfast cereal!) Andi is a wonderful host, accessible as needed, and has anticipated all the little details that make for an enjoyable stay. We only wished that we could have stayed longer! ##### Donna G. We could have just stayed by the window and stared at the view of the river all day and be perfectly happy just doing that! It also offers many conveniences and is well stocked to prepare an easy meal at "home". Thank you to Andi for all the little extras touches, we really appreciated having tea bags, some laundry detergent, sugar and more. The only two minor glitches which only occasionally bothered one of us is; some traffic noise from the road when trucks went by during the day (it was quiet at night) and the walk to the river is not ideal in some spots, do wear insect repellent. We would consider staying again, it is a lovely spot in a friendly town! ##### anne r. I can't say enough good about Wildflower cottage. We found the cottage itself to be very well appointed, clean, comfortable and welcoming in its' decor. The owners truly do want you to have an enjoyable stay and it shows in every detail. The wonderful long view of the fields, river and valley is an ever changing delight to watch with your morning coffee or evening meal. The entire property is truthfully and beautifully portrayed in the photos and is even more delightful in person. If you've never been to this part of the world,Wildflower cottage is a wonderful introduction as well as being nicely situated for exploring the region. This was our first stay here and if it's to be, certainly not our last. ##### Earl F. L. Stayed 7 nights in Sep 2017 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Max K. 2 Sept 2017 #### Wonderful Cottage - Great Stay! We stood at Wildflower Cottage for only one week but we loved the beautiful old house with the great view over the meadows and the Annapolis River so much. The cottage with the lovely and charming interior left nothing to be desired. Especially we loved the closer area: the dykes, the meadows and the ponds with all the flowers, the different birds (we haven´t seen hummingbirds and cedar waxwings before), the muscrats and beavers, the White-Tailed deers and the historical town of Annapolis Royal too. Wildflower Cottage is the perfect home after long days of exploring the gorgeous coasts along the Bay of Fundy and the wilderness of nearby Kejimkujik National Park. If ever there is a chance to be back at Nova Scotia we´re sure we will stay at Wildflower Cottage again! Thank you so much Andi and Steve! Anja & Max & Emil, Berlin/Germany ##### Max K. Stayed 7 nights in Aug 2017 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Theresa C. 15 Jun 2017 #### We loved it The photos on the website were right on. Wildflower Cottage was a delight, the location perfect for our Bay of Fundy discovery. Andi and Steve, the owners, are equally wonderful. From our front room, we could see the Annapolis River, a tidal river. How cool to see the difference in the river when the tide was in/tide was out. The Cottage has 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths so it would be perfect for 2 couples or a small family. Kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of comfortable places to sit and relax. We spent evenings outside watching the sky, seeing the light change and enjoying the bird songs we heard. Our family of chipmunks darted around. Our pheasants were a bit more shy, they ran into the shrubs when we were around. If you want a central location on the Bay of Fundy side of Nova Scotia, you could not find a better place. Wildflower is near the charming town of Annapolis Royal, which was founded around 1605. The town is small, great shops, extremely nice people. If you are planning to visit, we found Wildflower the perfect introduction to Nova Scotia. We loved it. ##### Theresa C. Stayed 4 nights in Jun 2017
