The house is beautiful and the sound of the river is so relaxing. It rained most of our trip so we didn't use the fire pit, but the hot tub was perfect. We would definitely stay here again.Do not ignore the need for 4x4 in the rainy/snowy season. That driveway is CRAZY lol. But the privacy and the view is worth it!The master bedroom could use more storage, but we made do. And the grill was pretty rusty so we didn't use it. We couldn’t use the wash machine which for a family is a bummer. They have a hard water issue so the wash would stain clothes, also when I went to have my boys take a bath the water was yellow. The view from the back yard was very pleasant and the river was very peaceful and a fun adventure for my kids. The Wi-Fi is a bit spotty as it’s definitely out there. The beds were comfortable. The sound of the river is the backdrop always. The house is so quiet/well insulated that you hear nothing unless a window is cracked. Amazing! There are some quirks to the house like the dishwasher that won’t open all the way, and the noisy stairs to the upstairs room, but also an amazing sauna shower in the Primary! This is not a chefs kitchen - missing knobs on the range, cookware that could use upgrading, and only 1 dull knife, but has everything you need to make decent meals. Even has an instant pot and air fryer! We used the grill a lot! Stayed 4 nights in Jun 2024 Verified ### 8/10 Good #### Manu K. 10 Apr 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Good Weekend Getaway Overall our stay was good with pros and cons.Pros:-location was a quick easy drive from Seattle to getaway for the weekend-the property is nice and big, with a river running in the backyard which was a quick walk-we liked having access to a grill to bbq-the kids enjoyed being in the hot tub since it was cold outside -the bedrooms each had access to its own bathroom-we liked the open concept and high ceilings Cons:-the hot tub did not appear to have been cleaned prior to our stay-the biggest disappointment was that the kitchen was not well stocked-there was not enough coffee provided and the coffee filters were too small so the coffee ground overflowed into the pot-since we had planned on cooking while we were staying here, we expected there to be some cutting knifes and kitchen towels. There were only 3 steak knives provided and no towels-even though the property says “pet friendly”, it would be nice to know upfront that a fee will be added for any pets.-we had no access to any kind of TV. The only way you can watch anything on TV is if you had a Roku account, including Netflix and Prime. This was not mentioned beforehand. ##### Manu K. The dishwasher was broken, with a small piece of paper taped to it stating it was broken. The main sofa was broken and very uncomfortable. The steam shower in the main bedroom was impossible to use, provide directions or remove it. The hot tub was not warm, it seems like the inline power surge protector tripped a few times and turned off the hot tub. The kitchen is poorly stocked, with two garlic presses but no corkscrew, and a breadmaker but not enough pots and pans. The fire pit area was wonderful. And the internet was top rate. There were some surprises however. The cleaners left a full bottle of root beer upside down in the sink. Towels were left in the dryer. One of the dining room windows was left open so it was 61 degrees when we walked in. It seems like the place is being upgraded in stages. The beds were very comfortable. The master bath has a new steam shower, but the floor is dangerously slick and the shower function is not intuitive. The rest of the furniture in the house is much less comfortable. Two chairs were close to breaking. The main bathroom sink dripped constantly and the shower there was unusable. We are used to having more kitchenware. Our meals were more makeshift without an array of baking dishes. In the description I would add bring firewood. Thankfully, the natural beauty outweigh all of the other problems. ##### Lisa B. From the first impression of a hard to read address and no porch light to walking in to a 52 degree residence the place is a peach. No working dishwasher was only the appetizer compared to the furniture and overall cleanliness- the nail sticking out of the blue loveseat was a special touch. Moving on the non functioning cold water in the guest bath was interesting but the hand wand just tossed in the tub and no wall mount was a special treat and testament to creative cleansing. In the downstairs master bedroom the non working shower and non draining right sink were a special hit. The master stroke for this one of a kind experience in a Pet Friendly residence, was the fresh rat poison placed strategically at exterior points around the house. We now know that hydrogen peroxide will induce vomiting and save an animal's life. Great location with many non functioning amenities that could have made this place special. "Of Biblical Proportions" would be a an exaggeration. The furnace worked. This residence would make a homeless family seek employment. ##### John C. The property is large despite only having 2 bedrooms. It is not too far from Seattle and has a secluded feeling, which we enjoyed. The hot tub was great. Unfortunately those aspects were the best parts of this rental. Much of the furniture (couches, dining chairs) was broken or felt about to fall apart. Not enough silverware in the kitchen for all 5 of us to use a fork more than once per day, and only 2 dishwasher pods were provided & no dish sponge to wash by hand. Exactly enough towels per person, which was not a great experience since we used the same towel for showering as drying off after the hot tub. The dishwasher could not be opened fully because it was blocked by the fridge. Some of the burner knobs in the kitchen were faulty and we struggled to turn the stove on or off- concerning for a gas range for safety reasons beyond convenience. Our request to arrive before 4 so we could avoid driving in the dark was declined due to company policy as this rental is managed by a 3rd party- much of the experience (furniture falling apart, not enough cutlery) felt like it was overseen remotely by a low budget professional operation and not by an owner who checks the condition of the property in person. There is a steep single lane dirt road to access this and several neighboring homes, which was not reflected in the listing. Would be interested to stay in this area again but likely not at this property. ##### Kelley H. The owners have taken great care in providing a wonderful place to share with others. It looks like almost all the previous complaints have been fixed or handled. The driveway was long, but not that steep and without any recent rain we had no issues getting non 4x4 's vehicles down there. My only suggestion would be maybe invest in a water softening system for the whole house.The mineral smell while showering was noticable.
