Girls Getaway
The home is beautiful and is set on the hill of a wonderful lake. The hot tub was very clean and beds were super comfortable. The only reason I gave a 4/5 on the accuracy of the listing is that I didn’t see (or maybe just missed it) that there are many stairs to go up/down to get to the home from the car. We had one person with a broken foot (in a boot) and one person that had total reconstruction of their leg due to an accident… stairs just made it much more difficult. But, the once in, it was fantastic!!

Great amenities and location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our girl's weekend! The hot tub with the view of the lake was one of the reasons we selected this property and it did not disappoint. The home had everything we needed for the weekend and was very cozy. The weather wasn't great, but we enjoyed our time inside. Highly recommend this property!

Great family getaway
We loved our stay! It was the perfect place for our family ranging from toddler to grandparent. The cabin itself was beautiful. The lake is so crystal clear and even more blue in person- pictures don’t do it justice. Janelle was an amazing host and helped connect us to a great boat rental. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful Lake Property
Gathered my family of adult children here for a funeral in Deer River. Wanted a place for immediate family and close friends to be together. Was excellent for that purpose. Great kitchen for cooking. Wonderful open space for people to enjoy conversation, food and fun. We stayed at the end of October - and were treated to a snowstorm. The fireplace made things cozy.

Overpriced
This place is way overpriced for what you get. I thought it would be much nicer from the online images. There was no soap in the showers. One of the comforters on a bed was still wet. The TV was in the loft and had no good seating to view it. The couch in the family room was so used I practically was swallowed up in it. Nice place and location but overpriced!

Jeff, You came to our beautiful cabin on MEA Weekend in Minnesota which is high demand and more expensive. There was soap and it is located under the sink a brand new bottle, unfortunately you didn’t bother to ask me about it or I would have told you. As far as the couch? I’m not sure if you like firmer couches but in 6 years I have never had a negative review about my Restoration Hardware couch. In 6 years of renting I have never had a single person say one negative thing about my house so thank you for trying to damage my business, hopefully future renters can look at my other reviews and make their own assumption on how my home is. You are crying over sour grapes because you paid a premium price on a holiday weekend!

Christmas Staycation
Our stay at this cabin was very comfortable. We had 5 adults with still one extra queen bed and one or two twin beds available. Kitchen was fully stocked with all cooking/baking utensils, cookware and small appliances. Don't forget coffee! The Keurig was in use every morning! Very nice Whirlpool kitchen appliances: fridge, range, microwave and dishwasher. All appliances were very clean. Kitchen window looks out over Deer Lake. Beautiful view in any season. The living spaces were cozy and comfortable. The upper level loft area with a 52" TV was a fun spot to watch movies and football. Or to cozy up and read your favorite book. There were lots of board games and decks of cards available to play. Both bathrooms were also clean and stocked with towels. All faucets and showers worked well. We stayed here in December and still the hot tub was ready for use. Although, we did not use it. There is a nice size laundry room with a sink and washer and dryer available. During the summer the wrap around deck leading to the hot tub and firepit (split wood is on site) would be a great gathering spot to enjoy the view of the lake. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. This property is on a dead-end road, not at the end but about a quarter mile from the end. There are several steps with hand rails leading down to the cabin from the parking area. I would definitely recommend this property! Owners were always available for questions.

Great cabin
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was beautiful, comfortable, well-stocked. The highlight (and selling point for us) were the kayaks, paddle boat and hot tub. We stayed during cold October weekend, it snowed for one day- but kayaking and relaxing in the hot tub was perfect in that weather.

Awesome Cabin on the Lake.
Stayed here for a friends annual fishing trip. Our best cabin rental so far. Excellent fishing and accommodations. Pontoon rental was very convenient with the boat being delivered right to the dock. Kayak and paddle boats from the dock caught even more fish. Fire pit and hot tub also. Entire group said they would stay here again.

Beautiful Home with lots of space and things to do
We absolutely loved this cabin. It has sparked out want to own a place of our own, just like this someday soon. The beds are super comfortable, lots of things to do…kayaking, boating, swimming, fishing, hot tub, games and more. The owner/property manager were very attentive and helpful. Couldn’t have asked for a better time !

Lake life perfection!
This home and lake met all my criteria. The most perfect location on the lake… a shallow bay to avoid the heavy traffic of speed boats. Surrounded by woodlands with minimal lawn to avoid the look of town life. A reed free swim off the dock with a raft, such a treat. Kayaking was so dreaming. Kids fished off dock and they were kept very busy. Groceries and restaurants were 20 minutes away. The house had such charm, beds were comfy. The extra large table with views of the beautiful lake was used for many puzzles. Grilling breakfast outside was so fun! This vacation was one if my favorites in Minnesota for sure.

Boating week with kids and grandparents
For those who are considering bringing up their own boat. I brought our Tige 24ve inboard boat up and put it in the water at the public landing about a mile down the road. The boat ramp leads into a shallow bay, but it can be carefully navigated to the main lake even with a big boat that doesn’t have the benefits of trim/tilt. The boat dock at the cabin is new and large and easily accommodated our boat. We hung out there in the evening, swimming and kayaking. We ate dinner on the large and beautiful deck which has a large Weber gas grill and a large Blacksrone griddle which you could easily make breakfast for a dozen people if you wanted. Cabin is pretty inside, kitchen is well stocked, table can fit 9-10 people, the loft futon is quite comfortable for sleeping. The hot tub fits about 4-6 coming comfortably. There is ample wood for both indoor and outdoor burning. All to say there is a lot to do here and a week seemed short. We hope to come back some day!!

What a beautiful getaway in the Northwoods. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Cozy and modern, all the comforts of home plus some. So many books to hang out in as a family from the dock to the campfire ring, the deck, the living room… Comfy bedding, crystal clear water, wild blueberries sprinkled by the shoreline…. Great hospitality by the owners and the caretaker. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

We enjoyed our second year staying at this cabin during the winter. Whether we were ice fishing, snowmobiling, hottubing, or relaxing by the wood fireplace, there was stuff for everyone to enjoy. Great for a short getaway. We also appreciated the new coffee maker and crockpot recently added to the cabin. Would recommend!

Things could be worse
The cabin itself was clean, the driveway was hard to get to got stuck on all cars. Checking in when we arrived we couldn’t find the lockbox for over 35 min called over 5 times and no answer. Luckily the door ended up being open. Still never saw a key box where they said to look. The windows all let in extra cold air in the laundry room you could see the vent froze over from the cold. The place took over 12 hours to heat up from 63-70 and still didn’t warm up. FYI if you ask for a late check out even one hour late be expected to be overcharged.

It was 41 below zero we had a huge storm that came through. My property manager left the door open for you, I’m sorry you didn’t try that. It does take awhile for a house to warm up when it is 40 below. The only reason the windows were frozen is because you left them open! When my property manager came back he said it smelt like weed and the windows were cracked. As far as the late check out policy, yes we will charge you because if you check out late in the afternoon my cleaning crew is cleaning in the dark and past 5pm. This was something you agreed to so not sure why you are upset?

Cute cabin
My family of nine had fun staying here for Christmas break. We’ve stayed in many cabins for our annual winter trip together and found the best cross country skiing nearby of any spot yet. We enjoyed the dining and shopping in Grand Rapids and had a barrel of laughs at the sledding hill in town. The large dining table was excellent and the host provided a highchair for my son which was very appreciated. The hot tub was fun in the frigid temps. I’d absolutely recommend staying here. However, if you want to play games at the table in the evening bring a lantern because it’s pretty dark in the dining/living room. In the summer it wouldn’t be an issue, but during our December stay we ended up using headlamps and flashlights.

Wonderful Cabin!
It is an amazing cabin to visit. We were a group of 6. The host was very responsive and the place was exactly as shown in the pictures. With plenty of supplies, kitchen utensils and board games, it was nice to relax and spend time with friends. The hot tub was perfectly placed over looking the scenic view! Such a cozy spot to relax and we will for sure visit again :)

We really enjoyed our weekend. It’s a nice, updated older house. We noticed it could have been cleaner and the smell of the water was bad and so was the water pressure. We enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. We wished for another couch or more comfortable chairs.

The smell of the water is from well water which is common on cabins. What parts of the cabin were not clean, this is very important that I know this. We have 2 full size couches in the cabin? Why were they not good enough? And what chairs were uncomfortable? Each item in that cabin is restoration hardware and I have not ever received comfortability complaints? Please elaborate so I can fix the issue?

Beautiful Fall Retreat
We had such an amazing time that we didn’t want to leave! The house was beautiful and well maintained. The lake was gorgeous and we enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle board. The peace and quiet mornings with coffee on the dock will stay with me long after the trip was over. We also enjoyed spending time in the hot tub! We definitely want to go back!

Little slice of paradise
Beautiful home with a luxurious easy to use hot tub that we enjoyed on the cool fall nights after kayaking and paddle boarding most of the day. Ample firewood was provided to make campfires at night as well. Property owners are very quick and responsive to any questions. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Unbeatable Location
This house sits just above the lake and offers a great sense of privacy even though there are neighbors on both sides. The house is well equipped and kept in good shape. Because we are older, we had not anticipated the stairways - both from the driveway and down to the lake itself. But the beauty of the lake compensated for our need to step mindfully. It was a great base for exploring the area. The hosts are very responsive.

Wonderful cabin on a beautiful lake
The cabin was great! I have been watching this cabin for a couple of years waiting for a week to open up and it was just as great as I thought it would be. The lake is the best part though. The water is something you cannot even explain. The colors were amazing and so clear you could see the bottom. The hot tub was the perfect end to the day and we enjoyed it very much. Both Jess (owner) and Loren (property manager) were great to work with and quick to respond. We rented a pontoon from Loren for the week. We enjoyed cruises around the lake as well as finding an island with trails that he recommended we check out. If you are like me and have heard great thing about this lake and want to check it out, I suggest you do. I am so happy that we did!

Amazing Week-can’t wait for Next Year
This property is “EXACTLY” as pictured (not so for other VRBO rentals in the past). Clean, newly remodeled, beautiful and the view of the lake from the deck was amazing. Deer Lake has to be one of the cleanest lakes In Minnesota. Owner responded quickly ….within a minute when we asked for the WiFi password. The family really enjoyed the owner provided kayaks, tubes and paddle board plus the owner arranged for a week rental of a pontoon (hassle free process). The beds were comfortable, kitchen well supplied and there was plenty of space for everyone. The deck has seating for 8 at the table and at least 6 to 8 on the outdoor couch. My personal favorite was the outdoor Weber Genesis II and the Blackstone Griddle. Cooked breakfast and dinner every night on these. The only downsides (would not prevent us from renting again) was the water is well water so has that strong mineral smell. Can be strange if you are not used to well water. Also the bedrooms are warm (but have fans) if the temperature at night does not drop at night. Luckily there was only one warm night for us. Overall a great week, in a fantastic location, in a beautiful home.
