Superb Stay!
My wife and I came in for 4 nights for our anniversary. The place was just as advertised and in a superb location. Easy walk anywhere in town. Would definitely recommend for a couple as it is the perfect spot. 10/10.

The lighthouse concept is very cute. The owners gave a lot of great details (written and videos) of what to do around GM. I have been there many times and didn't know about some of them.

The Lighthouse
The view of the Grand Marais harbor from The Lighthouse is awe-inspiring from dawn to dusk, particularly when the Lake Superior waves are crashing against the rocky shoreline. The windowed wooden cupula provides a wonderful sense of spatial orientation throughout the streamlined natural wood interior and it was a pleasure to return to the cabin each night after a full day of exploring the many bays and beaches along Lake Superior's north shore.

annual get away to GM
Very cute and clean studio in a little compound close to town. This is our second time at the Lighthouse and enjoyed the views, close location to downtown, and the outstanding communication by owners. We have been taking an annual trip to GM for the last 15 years and have stayed at numerous places around town but like this little compound so much, have rebooked in one of the other cabins for next year! Thanks so much for a very enjoyable stay.

Wonderful place to stay!
Just big enough for two people!! It was a cool little place, and we had just enough space for when we were there. It had everything that we needed, and we would definitely stay again. Can’t beat the location if you are looking for walking distance to all of the places to visit in Grand Marais. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful Location - Nice Accomodations - Perfect for Two
We really enjoyed our stay at The Lighthouse. The location was wonderful and allowed us to walk to a wide variety of venues in town. It was clean, well equipped, modern and a very comfortable "home away from homes". Would recommend and would definitely book this same unit again for a future visit.

Very unique property, cozy, clean and great location, everything you need and perfect for a weekend getaway. Short walk to anywhere you want to go in town. Beautiful view of harbor! Would definitely stay here again! 20 min drive to Lutsen

Perfect getaway
My wife and I came up to Grand Marais for our 34th anniversary, and our first vacation since my wife finished chemo in the Spring. The Lighthouse was the perfect getaway for us. We took advantage of Todd and Susan’s tips on restaurants and hikes, and just thoroughly enjoyed the therapeutic beauty of Northern Minnesota. We highly recommend this place.

Absolutely perfect!

Great quiet spot close to town
Cute place! Just the right size for one or two. Enjoyed having the radio on the whole time, tuned to the wonderful local station. Nice view of the bay in the mornings, and the woodwork overhead was a lovely surprise. Lots of good info in the guest book as well.

Great, cozy studio in a beautiful town
Todd and Susan's place was wonderful! It was comfortable and cozy, in the heart of a fun little town. I was able to walk to almost all the fun spots, and there was no shortage of things to do! Todd and Susan's hiking guides were wonderful (gave me lots of activities for my stay!) and the sauna was perfect. Pristine, fun spot. Thanks!

Great Place!
Due to some travel issues I was unable to stay but was able to gift the stay to my sister and her husband. They said the place was spotlessly clean, the provided check-in /check-out instruction clear, the hosts were friendly and concerned that there stay was pleasant. They really enjoyed The Lighthouse and the proximity to everything in Grand Marais.

Beyond expectations
The Lighthouse met our every need. Lovely, safe, comfortable, beautiful views of Lake Superior, A short walk to the harbor and delicious restaurants with outdoor patios. North Shore Great Escape
Todd & Susan are great hosts, friendly but not intrusive, provided excellent directions before and after arrival, friendly suggestions & good knowledge of local activities/venues, are excellent community advocates, especially given our Covid situation. The Lighthouse was a great space for kicking back/relaxing and very close proximity to town. After a day of hiking and walking around town, was nice to sit on the deck with a glass of wine and listen to local music and watch harbor activity. The living space was clean, comfortable, and the lighting and ambiance warm/inviting with excellent instruction for checkout. Long flight of stairs for access, but good for the soul. We didn’t cook but it does have a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave/little range, utensils... if cooking suits you. Small bathroom but fully functional- what more do you need? Comfortable bed, fan, and window a/c. Enjoyed our stay very much.. hope to be back another time soon!

Charming hideaway with view
Better than the photos! My best friends and I stayed here for a class at the Folk School and it was ideal. Not only was the location perfect for dining options, walking to the campus, and beautiful views of the lake, but the space was incredibly clean and cozy. Small kitchen had everything we needed to make snacks and meals, and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! Can't wait to return!
