"A lovely sea view"

"This is the worst experience I’ve ever had. Starting from the minute I got there. I didn’t receive any email or notification about how to enter the property. I arrived at 2pm bcz that’s the check-in time. Nobody was available on site and I waited outside trying to contact the host Samia for about 30 minutes until she replied with instructions of where the key was located. This should have been sent prior to my arrival. The first day, we didn’t have electricity and WiFi for a few hrs. I had a very important work meeting and it was very inconvenient and stressful. I also didn’t have any hot water throughout our stay. Taking cold showers was unpleasant. The place was not clean as it looks in the pictures (which is actually the penthouse not our actual room). It feels like an abandoned property that has not been maintained well. The only nice thing about this place is the oceanfront view. On our 2nd day, we woke up from an afternoon nap and was pretty much eaten alive with bed bug bites all over our bodies. I counted 50 bites, my sister had about 20. We woke up in complete panic and packed our stuff immediately. We could not find another place to stay last minute so we ended up sleeping in our rental car. I was disgusted and have never encountered an experience like this. I contacted the host to let her know we had left the property early and her response was that she was sorry this happened to us and was not offered any compensation or refund. Horrible host and property. "

"We loved the location and the house. Staff were very pleasant and Matthews help in the run up to the retreat was outstanding. The vegan menu improved when I suggested a few things. The only things that would stop me coming back is our of your control because it's the airport and the sand flies"

"Deborah was extremely attentive to our needs and responded promptly. Her home is well appointed and she has thought of everything to make you feel welcome. The location is excellent and yet secluded. I am looking forward to staying here again. "

"Palisades was OK - and no big negatives. For improvement I would note the bed linen is not cotton and I think needs to be washed regularly for longer than 15 mins at a high temperature to eliminate bed bugs. The bedding is a major problem in the rentals market - it really needs to be cotton, cleaned thoroughly and aired. The decking around the house is not in great condition and in places is rotten/ soft. Moreover the sun goes around the back of the house so really the decking g and pool are situated in the wrong position as they do not get all day sun."
