He wanted to create "the most electrifying capital in the world." He commissioned Wallace K. Harrison, the chief architect for Rockefeller Center, to bring his vision to life. The plaza was completed in 1978\. Today, explore the 10 buildings and fountains, parks and various venues on its 98 acres (40 hectares).
