However, when we arrived, the hotel claimed that our reservation was for three adults and charged us an additional €70 per night. This was the first time I’ve ever heard of being charged extra while still staying within the room’s stated capacity! Free soft drinks 24 hrs, free parking, and good fast broadband. Free caffee and kuchen every afternoon. Swim in / out pool from spa open all year, smallish but big enough. And a hot tub... Great indoor and outdoor play areas for kids which are not intrusive. Breakfast great variety and always replenished. Evening meals buffet and a la carte great High Austrian cuisine. We loved it - it exceeded all our expectations. Teaches UK four star what four star should be and beats them hands down. It wa supposed to just be a one night stop over between big cities. But Gosau turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel was amazing, one of the best included breakfasts ever! Don’t miss Lake Gosau - Spectacular. And the pizza place at the end of town was awesome as well. The drive to Hallstatt is easy and scenic.
