However, when we arrived, the hotel claimed that our reservation was for three adults and charged us an additional €70 per night. This was the first time I’ve ever heard of being charged extra while still staying within the room’s stated capacity! Great location for Hallstatt visit, Gosausee, Dachstein glacier and five fingers - not to mention the multiplicity of walking trails. Wonderful friendly helpful staff - everyone and everywhere. Free soft drinks 24 hrs, free parking, and good fast broadband. Free caffee and kuchen every afternoon. Swim in / out pool from spa open all year, smallish but big enough. And a hot tub... Great indoor and outdoor play areas for kids which are not intrusive. Breakfast great variety and always replenished. Evening meals buffet and a la carte great High Austrian cuisine. We loved it - it exceeded all our expectations. Teaches UK four star what four star should be and beats them hands down.
