Town: The village of Gortahork is situated on the north western tip of the County Donegal coast, and is an increasingly popular location for surfing and walking. There are several beautiful beaches around the area, and the village is home to the Samhain International Poetry Festival each year. For a day's relaxation head to nearby Bunbeag which has a swimming pool and a spa area or An Chuirt Hotel which lies at the foot of the Errigal Mountain and has its own health club and spa. Island-hopping is fun for all the family, and from Gortahork, you can charter a boat and visit Arranmore, Cruit Island and Owey Island. Cruit Island is joined to the mainland by a bridge, so is easily reached by car, but chartering a boat is much more exciting!
